Heads up for some showers and storms this evening. Severe weather is not expected but a few storms could produce some gusty winds and small hail.

An outflow boundary is moving south toward the area this evening, and could kick off a few showers & storms in northern counties between 8-10 PM. Severe weather isn't expected, but storms could produce cloud to ground lightning, gusty winds to 40 MPH, and small hail. Move indoors if a storm approaches your area!

It looks like the risk for severe weather tonight has decreased. Can't rule out some strong storms, but chances for severe weather look to be South and west of Madison. It is always a good idea to have a source for alerts that will wake you up especially when storms are expected to move through late at night. Sharing this post from NWS US National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan Wisconsin to illustrate the current thoughts on storms tonight.
