Community Connection - How it Began
Community Connection began with a call to action- it started with the passion of one individual who wanted to make a difference in his community. Community Connection runs off of the premise of restoring community- bringing everyone together and helping one another, because “your problems are my problems, and my problems are your problems”.
“I have worked in the community for the past five years as a volunteer and Community Outreach Director. Inspired by my son’s compassion and actions to help others, I created Community Connection. It is important to create an involved and connected culture that restores community for everyone. I believe this is where my heart has lead me to be. “ That is what Brian Schimmel has to say on creating Community Connection.
But, Brian isn’t doing it all alone, he has the help of Jeff Shapiro, who saw a call to action in Forest Grove that wasn’t happening in the Portland area.
“I had to opportunity to meet Brian and help build Community Connection. I have always wanted to work in a space that allows me to connect with people and do my part to give back. I saw a call to action in Forest Grove and felt people here were open minded to help make a change in the community. Community Connection strives to build friendships and creating trust with a hands on approach.”
