Happy Birthday to team member Isaac! Stopping by the office today introducing us to his new puppy Daisy. 💕🐶💕🐶
…Nice to see you today….but, really, we’re just all into that fluffy puppy fur! 😄
Ahhhh…the “new student” smell! Our fantastic apprentices Doug, Isaac & Ivan start another year at ABC School. 📚✏️
All hands on deck today! The Kinetic crew is working to replace all the k**b and tube in a classic Oak Park beauty. Taking advantage of this great front porch for a quick lunch and then back to work.
Big day here at Kinetic. Introducing the 1st trailer in the fleet. The trailer is designed just for meter socket replacements and panel upgrades. If you need a new electrical service done - You call us.
The guys are going to love working out of the new KE-037 service trailer.
Little out of the ordinary yesterday supplying temporary power to energize a building for ComEd. The further we looked down the street the more ComEd trucks we saw --there was probably 12+ ComEd trucks with equipment. We wont let it go to our head - glad to go back to installing an outlet for a customer!
We installed this newel post light for a sweet young couple new to their vintage Berwyn home.
Their backpacks are loaded with fresh notebooks and pencils, their lunches are made, they are ready but we still can't believe they are headed off to their first day of school. Seems just like yesterday....
Kinetic is happy to finally be able to offer an apprenticeship program to our electricians through ABC - Associated Builders and Contractors. Good luck to Isaac, Ivan and Doug!
Kinetic decided it was time to add the new BattleCat to the fleet since this team was traveling together in the Smartcar! With the winter coming Ivan was complaining about being strapped to the ladder rack! Welcome BattleCat!!
Last in the Kinetic Lineup: TED
In his own Words:
Love my 3 kids more than anything - way out of my league with my wife Alison.
My parents are the kindest people in the world - My sister rocks.
Crazy cat man - Cat lover.
Mario playing, Zelda fanatic. Peach got it goin on. Nintendo pioneer.
Have seen every episode of Friends probably 400 times.
Buckeyes rule all - Completed a 4 year electrical apprenticeship programs at Columbus State
Four wheeler riding, motorcycle / scooter enthusiast. Ripped a 2 mile tandem wheelie with my sister-in-law on my 4 wheeler. Proud 3 wheeler owner. Have a hint of hillbilly. (Not like a dude with a Mountain Dew T-shirt on, a Monster Energy tattoo and white Oakley sunglasses) Like a classy hillbilly. Love Florida Georgia Line.
Sadly enough I've seen Taylor Swift in concert 4 times.
You should treat others the way you want to be treated yourself.
You do you, whatever makes you happy.
Truly value friendships (with friends and clients)
You can put Tabasco sauce on anything.
I hate elevators - Nothing better than a youth (full pads) football game Saturday morning - Best electrician this side of the Mississippi - Have the best job in the universe - Occasionally enjoy a beer or 27 of them - Jeep waver - The only reason why you work is for vacation - 2pac was better than Biggie - Its a pain in the ass to shave your head every other day - Brian Ali and Justin have the best morning show ever (101.1 WKQX) nice plug.
World's worst powersports mechanic, but loves to be in the garage .
Super fortunate to have the team we do at kinetic.
YOLO
Week #11 of Kinetic Line up: Ivan.
Ivan is our newest apprentice pictured with our oldest van. We are pretty sure he was 2 yrs old when that van first hit the road! We met Ivan on one of our bigger jobs and when the job was over we grabbed him - he is such an asset to the new Kinetic team! Our growing star! When he's not at work he likes to workout and spend time with his daughter! We appreciate all you do for Kinetic!
Week # 10 of Kinetic Lineup: David! In a short couple of years David has gone from apprentice to lead electrician. He is everyone's favorite to work with - some saying he is creative, thoughtful, and easy to collaborate with. He is good with the new apprentices and is happy to show them the ropes. On his time off he is skating or snowboarding. If someone leaves tools behind we check in with David first....tool belt included. Kinetic appreciates your hard work.
Week # 9 of Kinetic Lineup: Ben. I think it is safe to say since he just got out of his teens he would be considered the next generation of electricians?? His co-workers say "with his work ethic, positive attitude and aptitude, and experience you would never guess he's so young - he's a credit to his generation" In his freetime he hikes, climbs, and works on his Jeep --Thanks from Kinetic for all your hard work!!
Week #8 of Kinetic Lineup: Alex. Our seasonal apprentice for the past two summers. Alex is now at Colorado State studying away. We knew he was an asset when he solved an equation for the distance and height of a garage mast that we felt our heads may explode if we gave it more thought. We look forward to our little sugarbug cheeseweasel sometimes Grumpapotamus returning... ( endearing words from his mom in the Kinetic office and not the Kinetic team) Thanks for your constant hussle on the job - see you next summer!
Week #7 of Kinetic Lineup is Doug. First a biologist, always an arborist, and now Kinetic's own service electrician. He is booked daily to handle all electrical conundrums. As well as fixing your electric, you may end up with a new plant from his personal saplings! On his time off Doug could be wrestling rattlesnakes, involved in control burns of local fields and he even burns his yard! But sometimes you will find him just playing a simple game of ping pong. Thanks Doug for all your hard work!
Week #6 of Kinetic Lineup is Isaac! Happy Birthday to Isaac today! He is our first apprentice to start ABC Electrical school through Kinetic. Not only is he Ted's stunt double, a family man at heart, he's an amazing and caring electrician. Lastly, learn from Isaac's mistake, and if get a sliver or wood splinter on the job and it hurts real bad - make sure you you text the intended person with your pain and suffering and not the company group chat - cause you may never be able to live it down.
Peace
Week #5 of Kinetic Lineup: Jerry - As strong as ten regular men, and definately as smart as 10 men- he is quickly approaching his year anniversary with Kinetic and he fits right into the controlled chaos.
With a background in carpentry and general contracting he definitely brings a different vibe and perspective to Kinetic. He always has a creative solution to electrical issues.
So if Jerry is running a service call and you just so happen to need your gas line fixed for the furnace, a new roof installed or your kitchen renovated - he is your man. We appreciate all he does for Kinetic Energy.
Week #4 of Kinetic Lineup:
Fernando ...... Fer--nan --do.
Our electrical ninja, self proclaimed Mexican power house. There is no one more genuine or passionate out there. The only tradesmen I know to vacuum out his work truck daily. We love how meticulous you are.
Very fortunate over the years to be able to call him a friend and have him as a part of the Kinetic Team
Week #3 of Kinetic Lineup:
The one and only Mrs. Traci -
Phone warrior, office manager, time keeper, invoice slayer, scheduling machine - Kinetic's own therapist, and everything else in between. We would all be lost without her, and so thankful to have her as part of the team.
Week #2 of Kinetic Lineup: Tara, cool, calm and collected. She's so cool we needed to post her with her 2 vehicles. She is celebrating 8 years with Kinetic next week, first as a lead electrician and now our estimator. We are so thankful to have her as part of the team.
Weekly Kinetic Line-up: First up is Carlos our super MacGyver, if you gave Carlos a pinecone, peanut-butter and bubble gum he could rewire your house with it.
Longest running employee to Kinetic, our little ray of sunshine and possibly Ted's favorite. But seriously, we appreciate all he does for Kinetic Energy.
Here's the Kinetic Team!
10 years ago today a Class-B electrical business license was given to Edward Stroup - the company name: Kinetic Energy. Off he went to build an electrical business. He met Mary and Bob Swindal who run a local management company and gained his momentum. A few years later he was lucky enough to hire Carlos Doolin and a few months later he hired Tara Schaafsma, both are still with us today! There are 3 employees who have been with him over 7 years! What keeps us around you ask? Why Ted's humor of course ?! But really his dedication to the company even through all the ups and downs of small business growth, his fairness to all employees and his ability to keep us laughing! Cheers to 10 more successful years of Kinetic Energy, then time to groom his 2 boys and little girl for the electrical biz!
Ted's Ode to a favorite Kinetic pick-up: through thick and thin you've always been there for me. You never failed me until them day we parted. Then it was almost as of she knew ...(see photo of tow). You will be missed ol' Betsy. Too many good memories to list. Until we meet again KE-24.
Adding one more van to the Kinetic fleet. Van-34 is getting stocked, really stocked, and ready for a busy spring.
Kinetic Vehicle #33 1/2 has officially hit the road for estimates -- equipped with electrical pipe, pipe rack and four foot ladder.
Keeping it green here at Kinetic. Check out our newest vehicle to the fleet! We wanted to grab drivers attention more than the Ruckus Scooter does-- and I think we are about to do that! Stay tuned for the re-do, up-do, decking out, Kinetic bling-ing...you get the idea... Stay tuned!
After a nice weekend with friends and family - we come back to the first snow of the year on the day of a parking lot light install! Still glad to be a part of a local Forest Park condo association job.
Hoisting up a 30" - 200 amp mast for a new service for a new Tesla. Happy Wednesday.
When you need to finish an entire house rewire in a week - the entire crew shows up -- and even the boss!! Getting it done for valued customers!
This is in the top 5 of best gifts I have ever gotten from my favorite female employees in the office! It is a map of Oak Park with a red pin on every block we have serviced as Kinetic Energy in the 10 years we have been in business. We started in Oak Park and are happy to serve so much of Oak Park -- and surrounding areas.
Call us if you don't see a red pin on your block - blow out deal to get you on the map!!
Ted Stroup
