Today we remember Tpr. Raymond G Armstead Jr. On March 25, 1998, Tpr. Armstead attempted to assist a disabled motorist on northbound I-295 south of Powder Mill Rd. While attempting to cross lanes of traffic to assist the disabled motorist, Tpr. Armstead patrol vehicle collided with a van. Tpr. Armstead sustained injuries from the collision and was pronounced deceased at Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD.

Tpr. Armstead dedication to the citizens of this great state will always be remembered. Armstead served as a Maryland State Trooper for 14 years and was assigned to the Forestville Barrack. He was 27 years old at the time of his death.

Tpr. Armstead we salute you and we will never forget you!!!

On 1/13/22, Forestville Barrack Group 1 conducted a Unified Enforcement Activity (UEA) from 1400-2400 hrs.

During this UEA, the Forestville Troopers coordinated with PG County Police Department Division 2 and Bowie Police Department.

The intention behind the coordinated activity was to provide high visibility enforcement of multiple agencies to the public as well as strengthen the connection and collaborative bonds within Prince George's County Agencies.

The enforcement was aimed at speed and aggressive/distracted driving enforcement and Move-Over Law education as well as DUI enforcement and detection in and around the Bowie area. Group 1 conducted a total of 63 traffic stops issuing 42 citations, 59 warnings, and 16 SEROs. In total, the combined efforts produced 108 traffic stops, 77 citations, 133 warnings, and 23 SEROs. There was also 1 civil cite issued and 1 criminal arrest made.

We would to thank Prince George’s County Police and Bowie Police Department for their participation in this enforcement effort.

Hello, I have phoned your Barracks several times in reference to drag racing on route 301 @ Frank Tippett Road. The desk officer gives the same answer “We have an Officer in the area” which is the furthest thing away from the truth. I am trying to figure what will it take for you to come out? A fatality? Please help!!!!!
Thank you for keeping us safe!
FB PAGE: WE BACK OUR PEACEMAKERS Good Morning Everyone 💙 Here is a article I read this morning on Pinterest, and I thought I would share it with the WIVES that's married to a LEO this also applies to the HUSBAND'S of a LEO💙 The article is written by Leah Everly. She also has a blog ( loveandbluesblog.com) I'm not promoting her book or blog by no means, but this really it's us where it hurts the most in our 💙's. I just thought it's something you may want to read or follow. The name of the book is: A Spiritual Guide To A More Peaceful Law Enforcement Home By Leah Everly. The name of the article is: WHAT YOU NEED TO REMEMBER WHEN THE WORLD HATES YOUR HUSBAND: There’s a lot of bad press about cops lately. Have you noticed? Who am I kidding: of course you have. It’s impossible to miss… unfortunately. There are countless articles that call the police power-hungry, over-militarized, trigger-happy, insensitive, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It’s pretty rough. You know your husband. You know the other officers in his department. You know them as people who felt the call to law enforcement, who are completely devoted to it, because they want to make the world a better place. You know how important it is to them to help those around them. Sure, maybe they’re a little rough around the edges sometimes. Maybe they’re a little stubborn and hard headed, and occasionally they crack jokes at inappropriate times (cop humor, am I right?), but they definitely aren’t the monsters they’re being made out to be. It’s even more frustrating because it’s not even just the straight-up “cop haters” who spread the bad gossip about cops. Even those who mean well get wrapped up in the media portrayal and don’t necessarily know better. Because hey, unless you’re in the LEO life, there’s a lot that’s kind of a mystery. And because of that uncertainty, the loudest voice they hear wins. All in all, you wind up feeling like the entire world is against your husband or wife. It’s hard enough to send him or her out to be in harm’s way, let alone after hearing stories of other officers being specifically targeted for violence simply because they’re police officers. It’s heartbreaking to send your husband or wife out into a world that hates them just for the job they does – which, ironically enough, is to protect even those who wish them harm. With all that being said, I’d like you to consider something. That isn’t the first man or woman to have his or her on motives questioned. Their not the first to be misrepresented and slandered. They certainly not the first to be treated unfairly. Christ felt all those things. He was perfect and innocent, yet called a liar, a blasphemer, and worse. He stood in the line of fire for us, even the ones who ended up taking his life. They didn’t appreciate it at the time, either. By Leah Everly
Thank you for all you guys do! I support and appreciate you. You are all in my prayers to return home safe every day!
