Special thanks to Sullivan County REC, Bill Shaffer, Bill Hunsinger, and YBC for their support. Also, a big thank you to our members who spent their Saturday improving our grounds.

May 4, 2026 18:12hrs. Stations 57 & 58 are dispatched for Box 57-2, 10541 RT 87 Highway, CHT for a working fire. L57, E57, E58, T58 & C57 respond. Enroute three additional tankers are requested bringing T51, T52 & T53. C57 marks on scene confirming a working fire with a large single story detached garage with heavy fire; he adds E50 to the Box. L57 & E57 mark on scene and stretch a line to protect the the exposed farmhouse and attack the fire. T58 marks on scene and supplies E57. E58's crew joins 57 members in quickly knocking down the large volume of fire. T53 marks on scene. T52 is redirected to Station 57 for standby. Station 51 units are recalled. Crews remain on scene for just over an hour overhauling the scene and extinguishing hot spots.

As a result of the heavy fire conditions the structure is a total loss. Homeowner indicated that they have insurance. The farmhouse received some damage as a result of the radiant heat from the large fire. Cause of the fire considered accidental. No injuries to civilians or responders.

Thank you to our mutual aid departments for their quick response and strong work.

Tue, Apr 14 @ 6:00 AM | Temperatures will rise into the 70s and 80s again across central PA by this afternoon. We'll be watching the remnants of thunderstorms over the Great Lakes to see if it fires up new convection across central PA later this afternoon and this evening. The threat for severe weather increases tomorrow as heat and humidity build.
