Who: The Deputy Chief of Staff G-9, Installation Services, is hosting a developmental training assignment and invites YOU to apply today! This remarkable job enhancing experience allows interested applicants to serve remotely as a *Forensic Accountant, GS-0510-13 or 14.
What: The responsibilities include auditing contracts, invoices, and obligations; and understanding Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Army Family Housing funding, and use of X year dollars. At the end of the project, the professional should be able to lay out BRAC expenditures for the past 10 years and provide data analytics to validate the cost benefit of the resources spent to the outputs garnered by the contracts. This includes developing courses of action that enables financial transparency through improving contract requirements, establishing threshold or conditions that requires increased budgetary oversight, and maintaining obligations within statutory standards.
Where: Pentagon, Washington, DC and Remote
When: ~3 OCT 23 – 31 DEC 23
Why:
1. To assess how the DCS G-9 expends funds in their housing and environmental programs.
2. To improve financial awareness in housing and environmental programs.

* Required competencies include understanding contracting, X year appropriation, and budget ex*****on. Must have GFEBS and Wide Area Workflow access and current Appropriations Law training. A bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred, but not required.
All applicants will meet one of the following basic education requirements:
A) Degree in accounting, or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. (The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.)
(or)
B) Combination of education and experience: At least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
-24 semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law.
-A certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination.
(or)
C) Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24 semester hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g., valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement that is normally associated with successful completion of the 4 year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements.

D) Have practical experience or training in developing DoD / Army plans and policy for implementation.
Note: The Army professional will remain on their organizational rolls while serving in the assignment. The G-9 will fund travel to the Pentagon for one week at the start and one week at the end of the assignment. The remainder of the time is served remotely at the home station.
