Our Holiday Hours are as follows:

The Legal Assistance Office will be closed for walk-up services, Thursday, 23 December and 30 December. If you are in need of an attorney consult, you can still call, leave a message, and we will call you back to schedule.
We will be totally closed on 24, 27, and 31 December.

IMPORTANT TAX NOTICE::

The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced on March 21, 2020, that the federal income tax filing due date is automatically extended from April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020.

Taxpayers can also defer federal income tax payments due on April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020, without penalties and interest, regardless of the amount owed. This deferment applies to all taxpayers, including individuals, trusts and estates, corporations and other non-corporate tax filers as well as those who pay self-employment tax.

Taxpayers do not need to file any additional forms or call the IRS to qualify for this automatic federal tax filing and payment relief. Individual taxpayers who need additional time to file beyond the July 15 deadline, can request a filing extension by filing Form 4868 through their tax professional, tax software or using the Free File link on IRS.gov.

LEGAL ASSISTANCE UPDATE:

The Legal Assistance Office is open and currently operating under the following conditions: All attorney consultations are conducted telephonically. To request an appointment, please call (703) 805-2856 and leave your name and phone number for a return call from our paralegals for screening and scheduling.

Non-deploying estate plans will be drafted and reviewed with clients, but will be executed onsite once we resume normal operations.

Soldiers who are scheduled for deployment will be provided on-site services. Please be sure to indicate your deployment status when you call our office for assistance.

The following in-office services are currently suspended until further notice: tax center services, walk-in notary services and preparation of powers of attorney.

TAX CENTER NOTICE: Monday, 15 April 19, is the deadline for filing Federal tax returns (state return deadlines may vary) and it will be the last day that the Tax Center will be in operation for the current tax filing season. On 15 April, the Tax Center will ONLY PREPARE PAPER RETURNS FOR ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS. Since we will not be e-filing on this day, it will be the responsibility of the taxpayer to have their return mailed and postmarked by the filing deadline.
