First I would like to apologize for being away for so long.

Second the Question of the Day will now become the Question of the Week and will be posted on Wed of each week; that is the plan at least.

QoTW:
1. Why is the deflection change set at between 20-60 mils during the gunner’s exam?
2. Why is a small deflection 60 mils or less all together?

This is a question and only a question to find out what other chucks think.

Is there a problem with the two tier system we currently use? Should Section Leaders and PSG be IMLC qualified and spend time in FDC? Or does it set ok that you could reach PSG never needing FDC experienc?

Again I will leave my opinions out of it i'm just wondering what others think.

Please tell why.

When you boresight, how many mils off are you allowed before you turn the sight in to get refurbished?

We as a whole get so wrapped up in how we were taught that we lose perspective of the concept.
Example.
If someone asks you what is your favorite color? You would answer _________

But if the same Question was asked differently like:
If you could only pick one color, what color would you choose?_____________
You would most likely answer it the same because you know the answer.

We should all know our job so we can answer any question regardless of how it is ask.

What is the difference in a coordinated registration and a uncoordinated registration?

And why do mortars as a whole do the Uncoordinated Registration and how can that get you in big trouble?

I ask because we as mortars need to search for answers, not just repeat the wrong answer we have always been told.

STP rewrite going on the plan is to have the STP the FM (soon to be TC) and IMLC say the same thing. Crazy I know. Will not happen overnight but it's working.
