The Imperial Brigade takes pleasure in celebrating Military Spouse Appreciation Day as we recognize our Army Spouses for their strength, loyalty and commitment to our Soldiers, the Army and the nation.

It is our ready and resilient Army Spouses that routinely put the welfare of Soldiers, their Families and the U.S. above their own. When the nation calls, the Army and its Soldiers are ready to deploy, fight and win our nation's wars and it is the knowledge that Army Spouses are committed to that same mission that leads to overwhelming accomplishment each and every time.

The Imperial Brigade extends our most sincere appreciation and thank you for the care, support and commitment of so many amazing Army Spouses serving in their own special way.

#FightTheVirus

The most immediate way through the oscillating COVID-19 cycle is by getting vaccinated. We have plenty of capacity for Soldiers, Families, and Civilians to receive the vaccine.

-Observing a decrease in positive cases will allow for the conditions to change.
-As we see an increase in the vaccinated population, and assuming this will decrease transmission of the virus, we can expect a relaxation of the restrictions for installation personnel.
-Our community numbers are at a plateau, in order to affect the plateau and ultimately lower infections vaccination is the way.
-We have ample supply of the vaccine and have expanded opportunities, and will continue to do so, to receive vaccinations.
-Expanding opportunities for vaccination through mobile vaccination teams in an effort to make it easier for those who want to be vaccinated can do so as quickly as possible.

-UPDATE: Vaccination clinic now open at Freedom Crossing (next to Military Clothing Sales) from 1000-1330 Tuesday through Saturday! Walk-ins welcome, no appointment needed!

-Stout Gym vaccination site call 915-742-2273 or make an appointment on www.tricareonline.com.

-Mobile COVID Vaccination (COVAX) Team will be at Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss and 1st Armored Division Sustainment Brigade next week on May 4-5 0930-1400.

#ThisIsMySquad Meet battle buddies Pfc. Xabian Wynn from Macon, Georgia(above) and Pvt. Deleon Johnson (below) from Houston, Texas. These battle buddies met during signal support systems advanced individual training at Fort Gordon, Georgia and are currently serving together with Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 3-43 ADA "The Legion".

Pfc. Wynn joined the U.S. Army for purpose. "I wanted to have something meaningful behind me and this opened my eyes to something bigger like serving my country." Pvt. Johnson joined for more responsibilities and to set an example for others. "I want to mentor someone one day who may want to join or who are too afraid to and show them they can do it."

Since joining the Legion Battalion together, these battle buddies have worked closely in the S6 communications section and shared with us their favorite qualities about their squad.

"My squad has pretty cool people, they all have different ways of handling things," said Johnson. "Ever since I've arrived Pfc. Wynn always calls me on the weekdays, weekends, it doesn’t matter what day it is saying: are you alright? if you have any problems you can talk to me. So, he's like that caring stepbrother who tries to guide me in the right way and as a Soldier." Wynn added that he's serves with great leadership who ensured he's learned key tasks. "They took the time to stay late and made sure I could accomplish duties on my own. That's really helped me, and I just want to thank them for that," said Wynn.

Their squad fosters an inclusive environment by always calling and checking in on each other, having friendly competitions in basketball or going out to eat. "It's all about trusting the person right next to you, we are all one at the end of the day, regardless of rank, that's your battle," said Wynn. "And I'd like to thank my squad for always being there for me. They work us a lot but it's because their preparing us to lead the next soldiers coming in as the old ones leave," added Johnson.
