Tonight we had a great competition as we had the two softball teams in the Battalion, War Eagles and Scorpions, finally go head to head during a post game. The two rivals had a close 1st and 2nd ining but the War Eagle team was able to come out as the winner against the Scorpions in this much anticipated game. Great sportsmanship from both teams.

The rifle is affixed with a bayonet and inverted, signifying that the Soldier went down fighting. The boots signify the Soldier’s last march onto the battlefield. Dog tags are imprinted with the Soldier’s name and hung from the rifle so their identity will never be forgotten. The helmet is placed atop the rifle representing what the Soldier stood for and signifying that their battle is now over. The Battlefield Cross is a sacred symbol amongst military members. Since a funeral is typically not possible during wartime, these symbols serve as a rallying point where surviving members of a unit can mourn and remember their fallen comrades. This Memorial Day, reach out to the Veterans that you know and give them a simple message: “We Remember.” We remember our country’s fallen, your brothers and sisters, and we appreciate and honor their sacrifice. #memorialday

Do not thank veterans for their service, not on this day. This weekend is to remember and respect our fallen. Our brothers and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice and were buried under our nation's banner - our flag - at war or at home.

Hello, I’m trying to reach out get to contact info for the K-9 unit or your kennel master? I believe my old service dog is there and was wanting to find out! His name is IKAR1 tattoo number T380. Any information would help! Thank you!
Hello, I'm sorry to use this page as a way to get information, however my retention NCO doesn't know where to send me. I'm currently stationed at FT Bliss and in my reenlistment window. Could someone point me in a good direction to talk to chain of command for a recommendation for a 31K reclass.
Found an item on the side of the road that has a 93D Military Police towel on it. Looking for its owner. I’m hoping that they may be a member of this group and will see this post. Please contact me with description of item. I would love to find the owner as I am sure they are upset over losing this. Must be able to provide specific details as to what it is so I can find the true owner.
Good morning War Eagles, If this post is not allowed or frowned upon please delete it. Many of you know who I am and to those who do not I am Marcos Montalvo and ETS’d from the Army Jan 2020. We all know that sometimes life takes you into a separate direction that sadly involves leaving the military, but its reality. Now that I have been out for a couple of months and have successfully integrated and settled myself and family into the next chapter in our lives, I want to provide any guidance and help to those currently going through or soon to be going through the ETS process. During my out-processing, I encountered a couple of obstacles that I know Soldiers will probably be going through during their out-processing journey. I want to assist anyone that reaches out to me in regards to out-processing questions, any advice, job searching, and example resumes (geared more towards MPs). If I do not reply promptly please be patient, I am currently going through the police academy and hours fluctuate a lot. I want to thank all of the Soldiers for their service to their country and wish you guys have a safe trouble-free weekend. Note: If you’re getting out and not taking advantage of Tuition Assistance (TA) I highly suggest you start going to school, even if its one class at a time.
Delete if not allowed, but I thought everyone must read this...... If any of you have ever been to a military funeral in which taps was played; this brings out a new meaning of it. Here is something Every American should know. Until I read this, I didn't know, but I checked it out and it's true: We in the United States have all heard the haunting song, 'Taps...' It's the song that gives us the lump in our throats and usually tears in our eyes. But, do you know the story behind the song? If not, I think you will be interested to find out about its humble beginnings. Reportedly, it all began in 1862 during the Civil War, when Union Army Captain Robert Elli was with his men near Harrison's Landing in Virginia. The Confederate Army was on the other side of the narrow strip of land. During the night, Captain Elli heard the moans of a soldier who lay severely wounded on the field. Not knowing if it was a Union or Confederate soldier, the Captain decided to risk his life and bring the stricken man back for medical attention. Crawling on his stomach through the gunfire, the Captain reached the stricken soldier and began pulling him toward his encampment.. When the Captain finally reached his own lines, he discovered it was actually a Confederate soldier, but the soldier was dead. The Captain lit a lantern and suddenly caught his breath and went numb with shock. In the dim light, he saw the face of the soldier. It was his own son. The boy had been studying music in the South when the war broke out.. Without telling his father, the boy enlisted in the Confederate Army. The following morning, heartbroken, the father asked permission of his superiors to give his son a full military burial, despite his enemy status. His request was only partially granted. The Captain had asked if he could have a group of Army band members play a funeral dirge for his son at the funeral. The request was turned down since the soldier was a Confederate. But, out of respect for the father, they did say they could give him only one musician. The Captain chose a bugler. He asked the bugler to play a series of musical notes he had found on a piece of paper in the pocket of the dead youth's uniform. This wish was granted. The haunting melody, we now know as 'Taps' used at military funerals was born. The words are: Day is done. Gone the sun. From the lakes From the hills. From the sky. All is well. Safely rest. God is nigh. Fading light. Dims the sight. And a star. Gems the sky. Gleaming bright. From afar. Drawing nigh. Falls the night. Thanks and praise. For our days. Neath the sun Neath the stars. Neath the sky As we go. This we know. God is nigh I too have felt the chills while listening to 'Taps' but I have never seen all the words to the song until now. I didn't even know there was more than one verse . I also never knew the story behind the song and I didn't know if you had either so I thought I'd pass it along. I now have an even deeper respect for the song than I did before. Remember Those Lost and Harmed While Serving Their Country. Also Remember Those Who Have Served And Returned; and for those presently serving in the Armed Forces. Please send this on for our soldiers ... please don't break it. I didn't!
