We are incredibly proud of our young leaders and their hard work and accomplishments in SMDC's Best Warrior competition. The squad will represent our command in the U.S. Army Futures Command Best Squad Competition at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, this May.

Our formation is home to a range of talented individuals, and one Soldier who stands out is CPT Fukuyama from HHC BN. The 1st Space BN team, 'Defying Gravity', demonstrated excellent and made history by taking first place in the 'Female Heavy Team' category at the recent Bataan Death March on 22 March 2025. The team, consisting of MAJ Cross, CPT Haslam, 1LT Baxter, SGT Rivera, and CPT Lessin, completed the grueling 26.2-mile endurance event carrying a 35 lb ruck at an impressive time of 11 hours and 41 minutes.

This prestigious event honors the thousands of lives lost during the tragic Bataan Death March on April 9, 1942, and the team's achievement is a testament to their strength, endurance, and teamwork.

SSG Bravo is the NCOIC for the S4 Section and provides logistic support to the Companies. Upon arriving to HHC, she immediately hit the ground running as a competitor of the Best Warrior Competition. SSG Bravo demonstrates excellence in her commitment to leadership by providing guidance and mentorship to the Junior Soldiers in the S4 Section.

18th Space Control conducted a Change of Responsibility to say goodbye to 1SG Pugh and welcome in 1SG Aldrich into its Command Team. This ceremony is rich in tradition within the military because it symbolizes the relinquishment of leadership from one senior non-commissioned officer to another with the passing of the unit's colors. Join us in celebrating this incredible accomplishment in both of their careers!

Soldiers with 18th Space Control Company conducted joint air assault and medevac training to validate expeditionary deployment and delivery methods of Army space forces and equipment. Part of our mission is to support the joint force commanders by deploying crews into positions of advantage to seize and retain key terrain in the electromagnetic spectrum.

SGT Olson has been one of the unsung heroes of 2d SCSC for a long while. He has been used in the role of Training NCO and has done a tremendous job staying on top of 2d SCSC’s readiness across the board. Keeping up with 7 Teams and HQs mandatory training and preparing the company’s weekly training meeting has been no small task, but SGT Olson continues to excel. Whether it’s grading ACFTs, training other NCOs on the M4 to get them ready to excel at the range, or managing the DTMS and training meetings, SGT Olson has excelled at every task he has been given.
