This page (formerly "R-14 Airsoft") has been renamed.
We didn't want to be mistaken for representatives of Range 14, or any of its recreation programs. More specifically, we don't want their potential customers to end up here confused & dissuaded.
However, it's worth retaining the several years of photo content from the events we'd held there. It's also possible this page could host airsoft events again in the future, but nothing is currently planned.
Q: "But WTF is RAMROD Airsoft?"
A: Since 2011, it's been a conglomerate of several NJ airsoft teams that played at Range 14, Cookie's, and elsewhere, and included GTU, A.R.S.E., War Wolves, and G.O.F.S. It's a great group, and proud banner for this page to be flying.

It's been a blast, you've been awesome, and it's been a pleasure to see so many new players get a start at this humble little field on JB MDL.
NJ is still the bedrock of solid northeast airsoft & milsim. I'm comfortable knowing your pewpew needs are being serviced by the growing number of fields and stores in the Central & South Jersey areas.
Airsoft is back, it's growing again, so get out there & visit them! Play smart, be safe.

EDIT; TO ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS:
WHY? A: The R-14 Airsoft program has always been admin'd by volunteers. Sometimes the time & effort a program calls for just doesn't balance anymore with other personal & professional obligations.
WHERE ELSE? A: In this area, some outdoor airsoft fields are SoftairNJ on Rt539, ATLAS Airsoft in Barnegat, Quickshot on Rt206, OTP Warfare in Pemberton, and Frontier Fortress in Sicklerville. For indoor airsoft, it's a long haul either down to Strikeforce South in Pennsville, or up to Stryker in Hackettstown.
TO CLARIFY:
This FB page, and the people behind it, are no longer organizing any airsoft stuff at Range 14. The field is still there, and R-14 Paintball continues to be run by the Range 14 staff, complete with a rental program. We never owned the field we played on, and wouldn't phrase it as a location 'shutting down'; we just aren't using it anymore.

October is the month we Purge at R-14.
Each round of team deathmatch will eventually be interrupted by a long whistle blow & a loud scream of 'PUURRRGGE!', at which point it's every single player for themselves. No more teams, teammates, or buddies; go hunting, be hunted, or just hunker down, & ʷʰⁱᵐᵖᵉʳ ⁱⁿ ᵃ ᶜᵒʳⁿᵉʳ ᵃⁿᵈ ʳᵃᶜᵏ ᵘᵖ ⁿᵒ ᵏⁱˡˡˢ ⁽ᵇᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒ⁾
REMINDER: If you dress for the theme, FYI most Purge/skull/Halloween style airsoft masks have mesh eyepro, which is a no-go. ANSI Z87 eyewear/mask lenses are still required. (further propaganda in comments)

Back by popular demand, this Father's Day we're adding our popular PURGE! rules. It starts with normal team deathmatch or objective-based gameplay, until the action is interrupted by a free-for-all battle till the last airsofter is left standing.
When Cliffnote screams bloody murder: you're now on your own and all players, including your 'teammates', are now your targets.
When the festivities start, don't go hide... Go hunting.

The winter season has taken a toll on our event schedule, but this weekend's temps look reasonable. It'll be just cold enough to snow, and early forecast suggests possible snowfall occurring in the afternoon. (snowsoft?! yes plz)

Our days often wind down with a variety of pick-up matches on the speedball fields. 1 on 1, 4 on 4, one field or both, we mix it up quite a bit. (As a reminder, our July event was held early, on the 8th; there WILL NOT be any R-14 event on July 15th.)
At the end of the day, Jay braved the center of the speedball fields solo for a 2v1v2 showdown.
For the last speedball skirmish of the day, we thought up something new: 2v2v2. The pair in the middle could split and divide their attention, or stick together and go after either side; meanwhile the other 2 pairs close in on them, who also must also deal with each other.
Here's a quick clip of one kill from Nathan, who tore up the field with a Novritsch SSG24 today. Takes some time to drop an opponent, even with one of the best airsoft sniper systems on the market. But this was almost clear across the field!
We're uploading our first 'preview vid' for this page. It's an assault on Golf, our field's centerpiece, by the Tan forces during Vietnow IV (Aug 2014). On our 10 acre field, this small town sits in the middle, and becomes the site of many of our best firefights. You can also see how we use 'spinners', similar to other fields' flags. Many thanks to Oddball for some great helmet-cam footage!
