#WarriorWednesday!

Any day that #10thCAB can train with our 10th Mountain Division family to accomplish our mission a good day. Check out the amazing air assault training our CH-47 crews did with 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division!

Together, we are Mountain Strong!

Eyes on the prize!

1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division provided the M119 Howitzer and #10thCAB supplied the lift! An inter-brigade air assault exercise gave our CH-47 Chinook crew chiefs and pilots the opportunity to train alongside our highly-competent brothers and sisters from 1st Brigade.

From hooking up the massive cables for the artillery piece and dialing in the gun for a fire mission, to carefully hovering in a precise location and releasing the load with care, both teams had their hands full. Luckily, 10th Mountain Division Soldiers stick together, and the crews executed the training flawlessly!

By practicing air assaults, our CAB gains the ability to maneuver #10thMTN assets anywhere at any time!

Fly to glory!

On Thursday, the Mountain Movers participated in the TF Phoenix Org Day, flag football tournament. The team played hard throughout the entire tournament and came out as the champs with a win over Echo Co, after two hard fought, come from behind victories in the semi-finals and the Championship game. Good work Movers! Thank you to all of the families that came out to enjoy the Org Day!

Recently B Co 3-10 GSAB reverted to their original company name of “Mountain Movers” and this has caused some confusion and offended some. The original name of “Mountain Movers” was assigned and has been maintained as the official name since inception. The tactical callsign “Colossal” was selected for the units 2006 Afghanistan deployment. Unfortunately, we lost Colossal 31 during this deployment and the decision was made to maintain the unit name of the same callsign in memory of the lost aircrew.

The decision to revert back to the original name was not made to be disrespectful of the aircrew or meant to forget them. It was made to include the history of the company along with 10th Mountain Infantry Division. The 10th Light Division (Alpine) was formed at Camp Hale in Pando, Colorado in July 1943. The “Pando Commando” was the first unofficial patch for the unit, appearing everywhere on signs, buildings, and even the division newspaper. As a tribute to the division that this company is proud to support and in an effort to look beyond ourselves we have included this not only into the unit patch but also on the aircraft themselves with stencils on the aft pylon. We will continue to maintain the memory of “Colossal 31” by including “31” on the aircraft aft pylon in the patch.

We appreciate support from previous crew members and hope this clears any confusion.

#WhyWeServeWednesday
Sgt. Trevor D. Robinson, a Florence, South Carolina native, went to Coker College, Hartsville, South Carolina, after graduating high school. He earned a degree in technical theater, but he was looking for a different experience.
“I wanted to do something different in life,” Robinson said, talking about his choice to join the U.S. Army as a CH-47 Chinook repairer. “It was a good gamble.”
Robinson has spent his five years of service stationed at Fort Drum, New York, and he said he and his family really enjoy it there.
“It’s the perfect location to get anywhere in the north east,” said Robinson, now a flight engineer with B Company, 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division. “We really love to travel, so it’s a great location for us.”
Robinson said this rotational mission in support of #AtlanticResolve is different from his previous deployment to Afghanistan.
“It’s good to work with our NATO allies, training and learning at the same time.”
