Mountain Guardians,

Last week Soldiers from the 23D MP CO were busy conducting range recovery operations and Law Enforcement refresher training.

After completing their range density Soldiers in each PLT conducted OCIE layouts, ensuring accountability of all their equipment, and weapons cleaning. Team Leaders and Squad Leaders worked with their Soldiers to ensure all standards were met.

The Gunslingers will soon be taking over the road commitment on Ft Drum. They trained basic law enforcement skills such as apprehending a subject and conducting traffic stops. Some of the most danger producing scenarios for law enforcement officers.

Good job Gunslingers always maintaining the standard and striving for readiness.

Mountain Guardians,

This past week the 563D MP CO was hard at work completing team training and change of command inventories. They endured hazardous road conditions and blistering cold to ensure their team training goals were met in preparation for their upcoming green cycle certifications.

And it's definitely not all snowmen and rainbows in the motor pool, but Soldiers and Leaders of the 563D continue to show esprit de corps and team work while assisting sister companies in the endeavor to defeat the endless snow here at Fort Drum.

An update from Fort Drum Medical Activity about vaccinations for COVID 19!

"Today, beneficiaries 65 years and older, at-risk enrolled beneficiaries ages 16-64 and frontline essential workers were able to begin receiving their #COVID19vaccine at the Guthrie Clinic as part of the DoD phased vaccination plan.

We are currently serving enrolled beneficiaries who fall into Phase 1c and all prior phases. Phase 1c serves enrolled beneficiaries from ages 65-74 years and anyone at-risk ages 16-64 years old with increased risk for severe illness of COVID-19 due to underlying medical conditions as defined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

As we continue to receive more doses of the #COVID19vaccine and progress through the prioritization phases, COVID-19 vaccinations will ultimately be offered to all Fort Drum and local beneficiaries in coming weeks.

Stay tuned into Fort Drum Medical Activity and the 10TH Mountain page for more information on when and how you can receive your dose."

Mountain Guardians,

Last week, Gunslingers executed a CREW LFX. Despite snow covered roads, crews succeeded when evaluated on their ability to Shoot, Move, and Communicate. Truck Commanders moved their teams through a series of target engagements requiring positive identification and team cohesion to maneuver lanes with precision. Freezing temperatures provided excellent training opportunity for Mountain Guardians to test their weapons knowledge and skills in an austere environment. Conducting these lanes at night reinforced the skills that make the US Army the superior fighting force, We Own the Night! A special shoutout to our support elements who provided vehicle recovery and maintenance operations, resulting in a flawless and safe range ex*****on regardless of the time or day!
