Final Results for the 44th Military Culinary Arts Training Event.
22 Teams competed. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and International Partners.
Team Drum placed Second overall for Installation of the Year.
Best overall Student Team.
3 Soldiers selected for the USACAT Team.

Congratulations once again to SGT Frett and SPC Williams for winning the Chef/JR Chef of the Year! Today we presented them with their plaques and provided them with the opportunity to discuss with their peers some of the things they learned during their journey on becoming the Chef of the Year. Also congratulations to SGT Jones and PFC Broadway for winning the Chef of the Quarter 4th Qtr.

There were 19 teams competing with over 230 service men and women. The Ft Drum Team placed 3rd.

In addition to the medal count the team won
Best in show for hot food kitchen / MKT
SPC Ngyen and SGT Hoyt won best in show Hot Nutritional Challenge
and SFC Boggs won best in show judges choice.

The Student Team Won Bronze.
PFC Lewis Won Gold today in Jr Chef of the Year.

SPC Nguyen is down in Orlando representing the Armed Forces today while competing at the ACF Nationals!

Congratulations to SPC Campos from 2BCT for being selected as the Culinary Specialist of the Quarter! It was a very close battle this quarter. Look forward to seeing more of our young culinarians battle it out next quarter for the coveted title.

Culinary Specialist/NCO of the Quarter Board and Mystery Basket Challenge.

The last two days we have seen three culinarians battle it out against one another to earn the title of Culinary Specialist/NCO of the Quarter. SSG McDuffie, SPC Campos, and SPC Caldwell began Day 1 with a written exam to test their knowledge on both culinary and soldiering skills. After finishing up the exam, they moved on to the mystery basket challenge where each individual had to cook an entree incorporating all the ingredients in their basket. They were judged on cooking technique, utilization of ingredients, creativity, taste, and appearance. Day 2 consisted of the Board proceedings.

Final medal count is 2 Gold, 15 Silver, 6 Bronze Medals. Team was runner up for Culinary Team of the Year. PFC Nguyen was selected as the Armed Forces Junior Chef of the Year and was also selected for the United States Army Culinary Arts Team.

Final medal count for our three, 3 BCT (Ft Polk) Soldiers who competed as individuals was 2 gold and 3 Silver medals.

Our main goal in the beginning of this journey was for every Soldier to medal, which they did. Goal accomplished!

Very proud of all our Soldiers that competed and their accomplishments. Climb To Glory!
