Fort Drum Soldier and Family Assistance Center The Fort Drum Soldier and Family Assistance Center strives to provide a supportive environment for Soldiers and Family Members as they deal with the stress and uncertainty of injury and the effects of war. Solicitations will be promptly removed.

SFAC Mission Our Mission is to provide a comprehensive, one stop supportive environment for Soldiers and Family members as they deal with the stress of transition and the uncertainty of illness, injury and the effects of war. We ensure that the needs of our Soldiers and Family members are being met and their well-being maintained. Why Use the SFAC? It is a convenient location with services from several agencies. Through the network of providers in the SFAC you can develop your transition plan. Our goal is to help you identify and examine your options, establish a sense of control, set realistic goals and develop a local support network before you transition from the Army. Due to inclement weather on February 28, 2020, the Fort Drum Garrison Commander has issued a DELAYED REPORTING ORDER. Unless notified otherwise by their chain of command, non-emergency/non-essential uniformed MILITARY personnel will report at 9:30 a.m. Emergency/mission-essential MILITARY personnel WILL report as scheduled unless notified otherwise by their chain of command.

Non-emergency/non-mission essential Department of the Army CIVILIAN personnel will report to work no later than 9:00 a.m. Emergency/mission-essential CIVILIAN personnel WILL report as scheduled unless notified by their chain of command/supervisor.

Child and Youth Services (Child Development Centers, School Age Center) will open at 8:30 a.m.

The Guthrie Clinic, all troop clinics, OB/GYN Clinic at Samaritan, and all dental clinics will open at 9:00 a.m. All patients with appointments prior to 9:00 a.m. should reschedule their appointments.

Due to forecasted inclement weather on 27 FEBRUARY 2020, the Garrison Commander has issued a DO NOT REPORT order. Unless notified otherwise by their chain of command/supervisor, Fort Drum non-emergency/non-essential uniformed military personnel and civilians will not report to duty/work. Emergency/mission-essential personnel WILL report unless notified otherwise by their chain of command/supervisor. Soldiers and personnel currently participating in Mountain Peak are considered mission-essential and will remain in place. Equipment, supply and service needs will be evaluated and addressed prior to the weather event. Any military or civilian personnel with questions regarding their mission-essential status should reach out to their chain of command for clarification.

We are getting many questions on snowfall amounts, so here is some clarification. This will be a long lasting snow event, with several diffierent phases. In most areas, there will not be accumulating snow continuously for 3 days, it will come in numerous different batches. Map 1 is a 3 day total from tonight through Saturday. Map 2 is the first phase of the event from 7pm Wednesday to 7pm Thursday (general system snow followed by lake enhancent). Map 3 is from 7pm Thursday to 7pm Saturday (mainly lake effect snow). Take a close look at the times on each map.

the early overnight hours, then heavy snow expected. Total snow
accumulations of 8 to 15 inches and ice accumulations of up to
one tenth of an inch, with winds gusting as high as 35 mph later
tonight and Friday. For the Winter Weather Advisory, freezing
drizzle with additional ice accumulations of a few hundredths of
an inch.

* WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, from 6 PM this evening to 6

Today is the day! The much awaited outdoor ice rink will be opening at 1 p.m. in Remington Park. The rink will be open until 8 p.m., a limited amount of skates are available to use at no cost and Lloyd’s Landing will be open as a warming station if you need a break. So bundle up and hit the ice!

An extra note: In the coming weeks the rink has scheduled hours you can find below, however if weather conditions are not good for skating they will change the flag found at the entrance of Remington Park! A red flag means a closed rink, green is open and blue means the rink is being used for a reserved function. For more info or to reserve the rink for your own function call 315-774-7330.
