TMPA is heartbroken to join Upshur County in mourning the sudden loss of TMPA member and Precinct 4 Constable David Thompson, who passed away off duty.

Constable Thompson served his community with dedication, honor, and a deep commitment to the people of Upshur County. His loss will be felt by his family, his brothers and sisters in law enforcement, and the many lives he impacted through his service.

Please keep Constable Thompson’s loved ones, the Upshur County law enforcement family, and all who are grieving this tremendous loss in your prayers.

* Until 1245 AM CDT.

* At 1145 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
near Jenkins to near Winnsboro, or along a line from 19 miles east
of Pittsburg to near Winnsboro, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Gladewater, Gilmer, Pittsburg, Winnsboro, Leesburg, Jefferson, Lone
Star, Ore City, East Mountain, Cedar Springs, Diana, West Mountain,
Rosewood, Jenkins, Newsome, Berea, Pleasant Grove, Lodi, Avinger
and Union Grove.
Instruction: Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and
large hail.

Severe weather is still on track to return this evening across northwest parts of our Four-State region, primarily along and north of I-30. Thunderstorms will develop in the warm sector ahead of a cold front and may quickly become severe into this evening. Large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes will be possible with any severe storms that develop.
