Competition is underway. 🏆

Soldiers from the 1st Medical Brigade are putting their skills to the test during the brigade’s Best Squad Competition at Fort Hood, Texas. Teams representing the 528th Hospital Center, 9th Hospital Center, and 61st Multifunctional Medical Battalion are competing through physically and mentally demanding events designed to assess tactical proficiency, medical readiness, physical fitness, weapons knowledge, and squad cohesion.

Throughout the multi-day competition, squads are challenged with patrol lanes, casualty care scenarios, land navigation, fitness assessments, and board interviews as they compete for the title of Best Squad.

The winning squad will advance to represent the brigade at the III Armored Corps Best Squad Competition.

AI-EE-YAH! 3d Cavalry Regiment's BRAVE RIFLES WEEK is underway!

Kicking off the week, Soldiers took part in a Spur Ride, Regiment Run, Tug-of-War competition, and the crowning of Trooper of the Year.

The competition continues throughout the week with sporting events including softball, basketball, sprint competitions, and more as the regiment builds esprit de corps, camaraderie, and readiness.

The Phantom Lethal Excellence Ceremony, held on May 8th, 2026, at the III Armored Corps Headquarters, celebrated the outstanding achievements of Soldiers and civilians from across the III Armored Corps. This event, hosted by Lt. Gen. Kevin D. Admiral, Commanding General of the III Armored Corps and Fort Hood, recognized their exemplary contributions and dedication to duty.

During the ceremony, selected Soldiers were awarded the Army Commendation Medal in honor of their exceptional service and accomplishments. Additionally, four civilians were presented with the Army Civilian Service Commendation Medal, acknowledging their invaluable support and commitment to the mission of the Corps.

This ceremony underscores the vital role of both military personnel and civilian staff in sustaining the excellence and operational success of the III Armored Corps.

The 2026 Sullivan Cup brought together some of the world’s top armored crews to compete in the U.S. Army’s premier competition for Tank and Bradley mastery.

Representing the III Armored Corps, crews from 1st Armored Division, 1st Cavalry Division, and 1st Infantry Division competed demonstrating tactical proficiency, gunnery precision, maintenance expertise, and crew cohesion against elite formations from across the force and allied partners.

•1st Armored Division— 4th Place, Best Abrams / 4th Place, Best Bradley
•1st Cavalry Division— 6th Place, Best Abrams / 6th Place, Best Bradley
•1st Infantry Division— 8th Place, Best Abrams / 7th Place, Best Bradley

UFL Dallas Renegades Orlando Storm

This past weekend, the III Armored Corps traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, for the NASCAR Cup Series: Würth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Across three days, Soldiers and armored vehicles from throughout the Corps gave race fans an opportunity to engage directly with the Army through static displays, equipment demonstrations, and conversations with the Soldiers who operate and maintain these platforms every day.

Lt. Gen. Kevin D. Admiral, Commanding General of the III Armored Corps & Fort Hood, administered the Oath of Enlistment to more than 100 future Service Members representing every branch of the U.S. military.

Events like this strengthen the connection between the Army and the American people while highlighting the professionalism, teamwork, and coordination required to operate complex organizations at scale. Much like a NASCAR team relies on precision, trust, and synchronization to perform on race day, the Army depends on disciplined teams working together to accomplish the mission.

1st Armored Division's Tank Crew is out front as the 2026 Sullivan Cup unfolds, setting the pace against some of the best armor formations from across the globe. Hosted by the U.S. Army Armor School at the Maneuver Center of Excellence, Sullivan Cup is the Army’s premier tank crew competition designed to test mastery in gunnery, maneuver, maintenance, and crew coordination under demanding, combat-focused conditions.

With three international teams in the fight and several others from across the U.S. Army, the competition reinforces interoperability, shared standards, and the collective lethality of allied armored forces.
