We cannot wait to have you here with us in July!! Maddie's Fund

Most shelters have at least some self-imposed barriers that are hampering their lifesaving efforts, as well as staff members who are working incredibly hard but feel frustrated and don't see how they can possibly do more. Thanks to the the Maddie’s Shelter Medicine Program at UF and the Million Cat Challenge, Florida animal shelters looking to increase lifesaving now have their very own barrier-busters: Dr. Sarah Kirk and Cameron Moore.

Hello--how are you today? My name is BOSCO (#A2064251)! I am a distinguished Black Lab who is looking for an awesome human like you to adopt or foster me. I'm 11 years young, but don't let that stop you since I am a very spry fellow with lots of life and love to give. Just check out all that I can do! I LOVE car rides and going out for lunch (see the fun pics of my day out and about)! I like to be petted and will sit for you and give you my paw. I love treats and playing fetch. I will even return the ball to you as I hold it gently in my mouth so you can throw it again and again and again! I'm also a gentle gent who is easy to walk on a leash. I'm sorry, but I don't like cats. I ignore other dogs and could be okay with other dogs if properly introduced. So please check me out! I'm at the Animal Care Adoption Center, 2400 SW 42nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, Come meet me and let's play fetch. I have the ball, all I need is YOU!

We have officially launched our Senior Paws Program! In an effort to find forever homes for older dogs, we have teamed up with The Pet Project to introduce a new and innovative program called “Senior Paws.”

Often senior dogs are overlooked by adopters who have concerns about the possible additional cost of caring for an older pet. However, as part of the Senior Paws program, The Pet Project group will help offset the cost of adopting a senior pet by providing food and supplies for the life of the dog once they are adopted. So no more excuses, these lovable Seniors need you! #ThePetProjectFL The Pet Project FL

IMPORTANT! The National Weather Service is predicting low temperatures overnight, including wind chills in the upper 30's to low 40's in Broward County. Because of this, the County has declared a Cold Weather Emergency beginning 6PM tonight until 10AM, tomorrow morning.

It is important that you protect your pets by bringing them INSIDE this evening where they will be able to keep warm. Additionally, if you are walking your pet tonight or in the morning, be sure to put a sweater on them as necessary since the wind chills will be COLD!
