I am loving using Golden Paint Works Mural&Theme, and I'm happy to share my enthusiasm for this line of paint as well as this line of work! 😊

My high school art teacher once told me, “You can’t deny your art. If you do, it will fight its way out of you.” That wisdom has stayed with me throughout my career.

This past Tuesday, I had the pleasure of presenting alongside George Kidder, Senior Technical Representative of Lanco & Harris. Our topic: “Careers in Themed Entertainment and Scenic Painting/Art Direction.”

It was a rewarding experience—our presentation was met with great enthusiasm, and the students were genuinely curious and engaged. I brought along some samples from a recent hands-on class, as well as a few tools of the trade to give them a tangible glimpse into the craft.

Seeing a new generation excited about entering this industry—an industry that’s brought me so much fulfillment—is incredibly energizing. My journey has taken me around the globe, introduced me to inspiring and talented people, and given me lifelong connections. I’ve learned so much and continue to be inspired every day.

Thank you to George Kidder for encouraging me to do this and to Angie Duplis, Career Development and Industry Outreach Rep at Full Sail University for organizing this!

Last week we finished Part 2 of a faux finish job in the Brickell District of Miami. The client liked what we did previously in the foyer, hallway and living room so much that he had us back to apply the finish to the rest of the condominium. The finish lends ‘calido’ to the space, Spanish for ‘cozy’ or ‘warm’. The subtle finish resembles a venetian plaster/ lime wash and is accomplished leveraging a glaze/ wash applied with various tools including dutch brushes, sea sponges and soft textured towels.

Thank you Schroder Marisa Alvarado for bringing this job to the finish line with me!
