Maintainer Team, Family and Friends,

Thank you for joining us today for the 16th Ordnance Battalion Graduation Ceremony for our 91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanics, Class 127 (A Company), Class 128 (C Company), and Class 123 (E Company).

Due to COVID-19, guests (family and friends) are not able to attend graduation in person. Cadre attending the modified ceremony in person have been reduced to only those required to execute the ceremony.

The modified ceremony conducted adheres to social distancing and other CDC COVID-19 precaution guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, reducing Graduating Soldiers to no more than five in the room at a time, maintaining 6 feet or more distance between each Soldier, no hand shaking, cleaning all doors and anything touched, and hand sanitizer use by all participating. We have also integrated continuous movement of graduating Soldiers out of the area as soon as they finish their appearance in front of the camera and completely removed portions of the ceremony that would have required the Soldiers to be gathered together (including their reciting of the Soldier’s Creed and Ordnance Soldier’s Creed). Virtually, family and friends should not be able to see this or be aware of what was cut from the normal ceremony events. However, we want to reassure everyone of the measures and steps we have taken to protect our most valuable asset-Our Soldiers.

These measures and others have been taken to ensure the safety, health and welfare of our Ordnance Warriors and Sustainment Professionals while still providing acknowledgment of the Soldiers on completing this milestone in their Army career before they move forward as the future leaders in the Army Profession.

Following graduation and completion of administrative requirements, ARNG and USAR graduating service members may depart as scheduled. Active duty service members are not authorized to depart with family at this time.

The designated pick up location has been marked by signs so you can pick up your ARNG or USAR Soldier. A map and signs designating the parking location is also attached on our Facebook site.

When ready for pickup, your Soldier will contact you and walk out to your car to load their personal items and associated gear. We respectfully ask that you remain in your cars or the parking area to ensure social distancing guidelines are maintained.

This is a time for caution, prevention and utmost care regarding your health and welfare and the health and welfare of your Soldiers. Please accept my apologies for this inconvenience. We will re-evaluate as conditions change regarding the COVID-19 viral spread.

If there are any questions, please let us know. We will post updates as they become available and will disseminate the information to your Soldiers. Thank you for your continued support.

Access to Fort Lee has been restricted to mission essential only. All visitors without a Common Access Card or Dependent ID must stop at the Visitor’s Center to register before entering the Lee Gate Entrance. Please be aware that it may take some time to get through security.

This train never stops!

Nearly every week, a class of Charlie Company 91Bs are training in the field to fulfill their graduation requirements—all while wearing masks and social distancing. Soldiers test their skills and knowledge one last time before graduating and heading out into the force. This week, DS Garcia is training with his class. Stay warm out there! 🎃
