U.S. Army is hosting a COVID-19 Town Hall, Monday, Feb. 22 from 9:45-11 a.m. EST at www.facebook.com/usarmy/live.

The town hall is designed to give Soldiers, Army Civilians, Family members and contractors an opportunity to hear directly from Army Leaders on the COVID-19 vaccine and answer any questions you may have.

Viewers will also be able to engage with Army subject matter experts in the comment thread.

ATTENTION CYS PATRONS AND FAMILIES!

The Child Development Centers, School Age Program, and Family Child Care Homes will open at 1030 tomorrow 19 February 2021. Please drive safe. We will see you in the morning.

OPERATIONAL STATUS UPDATE: Fort Lee will open on a 2-HOUR DELAY Friday, February 19, due to hazardous winter weather conditions.

ONLY key and essential military and civilian personnel must report to work on time. All other personnel should plan to arrive following the 2-hour delay – do NOT come to work any earlier. Please contact your supervisor for confirmation and details.

Kenner Army Health Clinic and all Fort Lee FMWR facilities will open at 10 a.m., however, parent drop-off at Lee CYS facilities will not commence until 10:30 a.m.

The Commissary will open at 9 a.m. AAFES facilities will open at their normal times.

Installation access gates and dining facilities will operate on their normal schedules, with the exception of Temple Ave. Gate, which will be open 4:30-11 a.m.

All other facilities will open two hours after their normally scheduled times.

Drivers are encouraged to exercise extreme caution when driving in winter weather both on- and off-post. Individuals parking cars on post may wish to avoid parking near trees, as falling branches or trees due to icy conditions may cause vehicle damage. Monitor local news media and other weather-related sources for weather updates that may affect travel. For information on road conditions in your local area, visit www.511virginia.org.

***OPERATIONAL STATUS UPDATE: Fort Lee will open on a 4-HOUR DELAY Thursday, February 18, due to hazardous winter weather conditions. LIBERAL LEAVE is authorized.
ONLY key and essential military and civilian personnel must report to work on time. All other personnel should plan to arrive following the 4-hour delay – do NOT come to work any earlier. Please contact your supervisor for confirmation and details, including questions about leave and telework policies or procedures.

Conditions will be reassessed Thursday morning to determine if further operational status changes are warranted.

Installation access gate hours will be as follows Thursday:
• Sisisky Boulevard Gate: Always Open
• Shop Road Gate: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• A Avenue Gate: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Mahone Avenue Gate: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• Lee Avenue Gate: Closed
• Jackson Circle Gate: Always Open
• Temple Avenue Gate: 10 a.m. to noon
• Visitor Control Center: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All FMWR facilities will open at 11 a.m., however, parent drop-off at CYS facilities will not commence until 11:30 a.m.

The African-American/Black History Month observance scheduled to be hosted virtually at 11:30 a.m. by the 23rd Quartermaster Brigade is postponed until a later date, to be announced.

Concrete paths between all structures now provide accessibility for all, tripping hazards have been removed, fall zones have been repaired, leaves have been removed, grass has been planted, proper drainage has been added and the structures have been fixed!! In honor of Month of the Military Child, Fort Lee Child & Youth Services (CYS) will host their annual Father Daughter Dance on April 14th at the Lee Club, 5 -8 pm. The cost of the event is $45 per couple, $10 per additional child. Cost of admission includes dinner with your choice of baked chicken, prime rib, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, corn, tea, lemonade and cake. The event will also have a professional photographer on-site to take pictures, a DJ and of course dancing. In order to attend this event, you must purchase tickets at Parent Central while supplies last. Tickets for a professional photograph download are available for purchase for $10.
