Promotion time at 5th Quartermaster! Even in the most trying of times our soldiers' hard work and years of service do not go unrewarded. Today was day three of the Ultimate Warrior competition and the conclusion to tough and challenging events organized by the Petroleum and Water Department, starting with urban orienteering competitors arrived at the Petroleum and Water Department at 0600 where they received a briefing from the event NCOIC, they were given a map, compass, and protractor with coordinates and were released to find their points. Immediately after the urban orienteering event all competitors were brought in to a classroom to complete their final task which was to write a college level essay. The Ultimate Warrior competition recognizes Soldiers who demonstrate a commitment to the Army values, embody the Warrior Ethos, and represents the Force of the Future. After calculating all the scores the following were the results of the competition: 1st: DS Merancio Vco 262 QM BN 2nd: SSG Colter PWD/WTD 3rd: DS Knight Cco 262 QM BN 4th: SSG Matute PWD/BPLD DS Merancio was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for his accomplishment in the competition. The BN CSM recognized SSG Butterfield with a Battalion coin for his expert organizational skills in putting this event together as NCOIC, PWD SGM also recognized DS Williams D. for always going out of his way to motivate his fellow competitors and SSG Matute was also recognized for his can-do attitude for continuing all events after suffering an injury during the Weapons disassemble event. All four top competitors have proved that they have what it takes to be the Ultimate Warrior and will move forward in representing the Battalion at the FY19 CASCOM Ultimate Warrior competition. #ReadyOnDayOne #LifelineToVictory #UltimateWarrior 262nd Quartermaster Battalion Victor Company, 262nd Quartermaster Battalion, 23rd Quartermaster Brigade Charlie Company, 262nd QM BN, 23rd QM BDE Romeo Company, 262nd QM BN, 23rd QM BDE
