“Leadership is solving problems. The day Soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or concluded you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership.”

This month is Native American Indian Heritage Month. Thank you for your sacrifice and dedication.

Louis Lucky Cloud was drafted in 1943 and served as an 82nd Airborne Division paratrooper.

On June 6, 1944, he and his fellow paratroopers jumped into Normandy and seized St. Mere Eglise. Among his many medals is the Bronze Star.

Cloud was a warrior in the tradition of his grandfather, Pax-an-'pín, whose Yakama name he has taken for his own.

Transporters, I'd like to recognize CPL Michael Darnell of A CO, 25th BSB.

CPL Darnell has been stationed on Fort Wainwright for the past three years. During his time with Alpha Company, he has grown from a motivated Soldier to an accomplished and knowledgeable leader.

CPL Darnell is a true subject matter expert when it comes to all vehicle platforms in the company’s fleet. Whether he is demonstrating to a Solider how to get a tire rolling on a locked trailer or working with mechanics to install parts, his presence is felt. His knowledge does not stop just with work at the Vehicle Maintenance Facility. In previous field training exercises, Soldiers sought to emulate his knowledge.

His patience and willingness to mentor and teach the Soldiers around him has affected his squad, platoon and company. As he begins his process of ETSing next spring, the knowledge and lessons he has given to Soldiers will reflect in our success for many years to come.

CPL Darnell is working to begin an internship with a fire department in his hometown after his departure from the Army. We know he will be an asset to any team he joins. His drive to be a professional and his belief in helping others will take him a long way in any organization.

Thank you for your leadership CPL Darnell.

During #DynamicFront 21, The 1-6th Field Artillery Regiment’s 246 Forward Support Company Distribution Platoon conducted a joint convoy operation with the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy in support of DynamicFront 21. Led by Distribution Platoon Sergeant, SFC Rodman, this exercise significantly improved our ability to provide timely and efficient logistical support to not only our U.S. Warfighters but to our International Allies.

Thank you for all of the coordination and hard work!
