Bravo Bulldogs,
As we draw near to tomorrow morning and the CoR, I wanted to take sometime to let you know how much I appreciate all of you. The last 21 months have honestly been the highlight of my career. Thank you for allowing me to teach, coach, and mentor you. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this amazing family and company. This organization will forever be in my heart. My phone number has never changed so if any of you ever need anything, please reach out. The Army is a small world so I will not say goodbye, just see you later.

Strength and Honor!

“Leadership and the Art of Delegation”

John Moore, in his article Leadership and the Art of Delegation, describes guidance provided to him by his first Platoon Sergeant.

1) Stay calm – always; and, never yell unless someone’s life depends on it.

2) When you get your mission, bring us in, we’ll break it down with you and we’ll work together to assign tasks and make sure we don’t miss anything.

3) Ensure those responsible for each task know exactly what you expect, why it needs to be done, and how they are to let you know its complete or that they need help.

4) Talk, listen, and listen some more. You’ve got to communicate with these men and most of communicating is listening. It’s a sign of respect and these senior sergeants have earned it. These folks are smart and they want to know the what and the why. They don’t get to spend much time around people with college and they’ll love it when you take the time to talk with them.” He then told me something my grandfather used to tell me, “Sir, remember you’ve got two ears and one mouth for a reason.”
