Behind every headset is a person who spends their days, nights, weekends, and holidays helping others through some of life's most difficult moments. Today, we want to take a moment to recognize the fathers and father figures who do the same thing at home.

To the dads who answer calls for help, calm chaos, provide guidance, and still make time for their families when they walk through the door—thank you. Your patience, strength, leadership, and commitment make a difference both in our communications center and in the lives of those who love you.

We also want to wish a Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers throughout Morgan County and beyond. We hope your day is filled with family, laughter, and memories with the people who matter most.

⚠️ Ensign Storm Sewer Project Update ⚠️

Monday, June 22, SMH West construction crews will enter the next stage in the Ensign Storm Sewer Project.

This phase requires the full closure of the intersection at Riverview Avenue and Main Street. This will allow construction crews to install the manhole connecting the large storm sewer pipe in Riverview Avenue to the storm sewer pipe in Main Street.

During this time, SMH West and the City of Fort Morgan Water Department will also upgrade the existing water infrastructure located within the intersection.

This closure may extend into the following week and will impact traffic in all directions. Residents are encouraged to follow detour signage.

Local businesses impacted by this intersection closure are open to the public during this time.

Residents can access the following businesses using these alternative routes.

👉 McDonald Toyota Fort Morgan, Korf CDJR Fort Morgan, Alvarado's & McDonald's: Access via West 9th Avenue to Meeker Street.

👉 Arby’s & Maverick: Access via Fremont Street to State Street.

👉 Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, & Phillips 66: Take Exit 80 from I-76.
➡ To re-enter Fort Morgan from these locations, motorists must return to I-76 and use either Exit 79 or Exit 82.

A Tornado Watch will be in effect for areas primarily east of I-25, excluding some of the northeastern plains counties, through 9PM this evening. Tornadoes, very large hail, and strong winds will all be possible with today’s storms. Please stay weather aware today and have a plan in case a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning is issued!
