Selfless Service at its finest!

Pvt. Travis Gray, foreground, was one of 17 Soldiers who just graduated from 1-79th Field Artillery Battalion and donated convalescent plasma Aug. 28, at 95th Adjutant General Battalion.

Each donation can save three people infected with #COVID19, according to Oklahoma Blood Institute officials, who coordinated the drive with Reynolds Army Health Clinic and 434th Field Artillery Brigade.

The 1st Battalion 79th FA Drill Sergeants are professionals to be respected for their abilities and knowledge as the driving force of the organization and the backbone of the system. The End of Tour Ceremony will honor and remembered them for their example of high standards of performance,
appearance, military and professional bearing and ethics. We all remember
our drill sergeants, now we will remember these fine examples of what a
drill sergeant is and will be.

Recognized SFC Waldien (Bravo BTRY) and SSG Clifton (Alpha BTRY).

Alpha Battery, 1-79 FA Basic Combat Training

Great job Alpha Battery!

Greetings from Fort Sill!

We are proud to announce that Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 79th Field Artillery (A/1-79) successfully completed the Forge! Their successful completion of this culminating event means that all of the trainees assigned to the Battery have completed all graduation requirements and can now be considered Soldiers! Congratulations Alpha Battery!

The support of Families and Friends drives our trainees daily and for that we thank all of you for supporting your Soldier.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, your Soldiers were not able to call home on 15 August 2020 but they will have the opportunity to make one phone call tomorrow.

We know you are waiting for graduation information. There is a potential for Alpha Battery's graduation to shift approximately one week later but we are working through that now. Once a decision is made, we will be sure to update you on this page. We do not anticipate major impacts for any delays from this decision but we will address each Soldier's situation individually. For those rising seniors, our team will be working with these Soldiers one on one to ensure impacts to school start dates are limited.

Feel free to post your questions but please be patient with responses as our first priority is taking care of your Soldiers.

Again thank you all for helping create the Army's newest Professional Soldiers! Army Strong!

Excellence: Drill Sergeant Gabbard from B/1-79 FA, recently he scored a perfect 600/600 during the ACFT for the Expert Infantry Badge. In addition to physical fitness excellence, DS Gabbard excels in his responsibilities as a Drill Sergeant as he revised the tactics lanes during the Forge to enhance the battery's tradition of rigorous and realistic training.

DISCIPLINE: SSG Eriana Dorsey has distinguished herself from her peers. While assigned as Drill Sergeant, she has managed her time effectively to train future Soldiers and additionally managed her own future by taking courses towards a Bachelors of Business. She is currently finishing her requirements towards an Associates Degree and hopes to use it towards opening her own beauty product business in the near future.
