Hey class 63 mentors!

Letters are coming! All cadets have written Letters and will be sending them your way shortly!

Just as a friendly reminder as you write your mentee back! (You can also send your Post Residential advisor an email with your response ;) )

1. Always be positive!
Bad news is never good news to be put in a letter!

2. Share something that can laugh at!
I promise you a knock knock joke can go a long way!

3. Tell them how proud you are!
Not every candidate makes it to week 3 and if they wrote a letter they made it and they can make it all the way if they know you believe in them so they can believe in themselves!

4. Be encouraging!
They may complain but remind them that you believe in them!

5. Stuck on what to write?
Tell them about their favorite sports team, the Olympics, or the new flavor of oreos that are bound to hit the shelves!

Happy National Parents day from your Fort Stewart Youth Challenge Family!
Mentors, current cadet parents, past cadet parents, grandparents, cadets who are parents, and graduates who are parents we are so proud of you and appreciate all you do!

If you are a parent of a current cadet I encourage you to share with us one thing you hope your young man or woman takes from their time here at the Youth Challenge Academy!

We absolutely LOVE hearing success stories from all of our mentors and graduates!

One of our mentors reported this month on Bravo 2 graduate; Brain Williams!

“Brian is currently a Contractor for Live Nation as a Stagehand Apprentice. He is doing exceptionally well. He spent his summer as an apprentice and built the stage for Janet Jackson’s tour stop in Sacramento, CA for the Stagehand’s Union of Sacramento. He completed that apprenticeship to begin studies at UAPB (Univ of Arkansas Pine Bluff) with classes beginning 7/8/24 through the LIONS Program where he was awarded scholarship funds to receive 6 credits before the start of the Fall Session where he will be enrolled full time.”

WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU! Keep moving and keep climbing that ladder to success because you are doing some amazing things!

2 weeks ago we graduated some amazing cadets including this young man!
He had his own set of struggles when he came in but he took to the challenge and accomplished so many goals while with us! We have nothing but high hopes for him as he is now in the post-residential phase of Youth Challenge Academy.

While we miss our now graduates we are getting ready to take in our next set of cadets and he has a little piece of advice for everyone!

We took a few of our soon to be graduates over to a career fair and they thrived!

They loved being able to get in front of employers!
They loved being able to ask them all the questions!
They loved being able to think about their futures!
They loved being able to see their dreams possibly become a reality!

👀Some were even offered an opportunity to interview! 👀

Placement is key to success in the post residential phase and employment is just one of the ways to be placed!

Any guesses on their favorite part of the job fair?
