Sometimes “I don’t trust anyone” is really:
“I trusted the wrong person once, and it changed me forever.”

Healing isn’t about becoming who you were before the trauma.
It’s about learning you deserve safety again. 💜

While we may be a primarily virtual organization, let's make one thing clear: Survivors.org will never use generative AI to make any of our content. Ever.

We are by survivors, for survivors. Survivors deserve support from real human beings who can relate to them, share lived experiences, and who put thought and attention into what is being made. We also believe that, because many AI models have been created using images, videos, and writing without the consent of the copyright holders, the use of AI is inherently a direct contradiction of what we stand for.

It is disheartening to see organizations dedicated to supporting survivors and improving mental health utilize AI in every post. The punctuation, the voice, and the sentence structures that ChatGPT generates are obvious and unmistakable. We'd rather post a little less, or make a grammatical error, than engage in what we see as disrespectful towards survivors. A real person wrote this caption, and real people made sure that this is one of our Fundamental Beliefs.
