Yesterday, WCFD firefighters and local school bus drivers conducted a joint emergency drill. Using a training fog machine to simulate a heavy smoke condition inside a bus, drivers practiced navigating low-visibility evacuations to safely offload students in a crisis.
In return, our crews received specialized training from the school's transportation team on their propane-powered buses—learning vital fuel system shut-offs and safety mechanisms to sharpen our alternative-fuel response skills.
When public safety and public schools work together, our whole community wins. Excellent work to all the drivers and crews involved!
