2020 Doula baby #3 is on it’s way! Come on, Baby! We can’t wait to meet you.❤️#motherblissdoula #spinningbabies #fortworthdoula #labor #doula #lamaze #naturalchildbirth
It’s a new thing and I’ve had it work with more than one client.
For as long as I can remember, I (and probably you) have been encouraging birthing people to adopt upright, forward and open positions (so-called ‘UFO Positions’) in labor in order to make as much space in the pelvis as possible. “Open the inlet” has always been my mantra along with many o....
Six Flags with some of the grandkids was a great way to start the New Year!
Finishing out 2019 with a little one who wouldn’t wait for her 2020 due date! Now to sleep in the new year.

Thank you Aron Phillips for my thermal mug. Waiting on my second doula baby this week. Come on little one! We are ready to meet you.
Sometimes postpartum care means squeezing into a princess castle tent and creating your own version of the 12 days of Christmas while mom catches up on desperately needed sleep. We only made it to six before the castle was too full. Sing with us now...”six cakes for eating, 5 big red Elmos, 4 soft stuffed animals, 3 girls a-sitting, 2 books for reading and 1 tall Christmas stacking tower”.

#lastjedilayne (grandbaby 13) had his first birthday party today but couldn’t resist the power of the “Lolli sway” force and crashed just as the party ended.
I’m rocking grand baby #14 in an antique rocking chair used by my grandparents to rock me while sitting in the home I was raised in. Five generations of my family have lived in this home and six have rocked in this chair. How very blessed and thankful I am. Thank you to all the families who have let me touch the generations of your home and allowed me to rock your babies. I hold all of you in my heart as I sit here in reflection today. May you be richly blessed all your days. Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m looking forward to today!
Show me my Doula Babies! I want to see all the cuteness!
If you are needing a doula, I’m currently booking February, March and May clients. Only a few slots are available
Doula work can mean being called to serve first time parents at 2:39am on one night and not making it back to bed until 3:29am the next night.
One of my favorite birth photographers is famous! If you are looking for a birth photographer, book Samantha Jones Washburn ASAP!
For many families, birth is an exhilarating blur. It's wonderful, but you may forget some of the details of your child's entrance into the world in the excitement. Having a professional photographer on hand is one of the best ways to ensure you…
Beautiful night to have a baby!

I got the 'call' at 3:30am that they were headed to the birthing center, so I rolled out of bed and drove straight there. Elizabeth was already 100% along and just letting her body do it's magic. After about 2 1/2 hours, some solid pushes and deep breathing Luke arrived; and ON his projected due date. The birth team was amazing, and so encouraging. Congratulations Phillips Family, I can not wait to see Little Luke grow and flourish!

The Demystification of the Postpartum Female Body
As women open up about the realities of recovering from giving birth, the resources available to new moms are expanding.
Sometimes postpartum care means traveling with a new mom to a place she loves, then being a pack mule with baby supplies, water and snacks so she can take a gentle walk to some pine trees, sit and re-energize with nature. #newmom #postpartumdoula #motherblissdoula #ittakesavillage #pinetreearomatherapy
Who is looking for an awesome midwife? This is how Birth should be-support from ALL directions-Midwife, Doula, Chiropractor...let us all support you and your family at this time.
We believe that birth should be more than just safe . . . it should be a day you feel supported and powerful. The memories you make during labor and birth will last a lifetime. It's worth doing everything in your power to make it memorable and satisfying!
That's why, starting July 15, Frisco Birth Center is offering a $300 discount to any new client who hires a doula, and a $200 discount to any new client who sees a chiropractor at least 10 times during pregnancy! Combined - that's a $500 investment in a safer, more satisfying birth experience.
I got in some postpartum care with this little love. He was my second June doula baby to be born on his due date! A third client labored on her due date but didn’t deliver til the next day. Less than 10% of babies arrive on their due date. It’s been a record breaking June!
You deserve this!
It’s summertime..... and if you’re pregnant right now- It’s not a good situation.
That’s why at Lumi, we won’t give you a free snow on your birthday but we will give you a free snow on your DUE DATE LADIES. 🙌🏼👍🏼
So bring in your beautiful pregnant 🤰 self, (bring in something with your due date like an ultrasound) shoot us that one “it’s hot and get this thing out of me now” look and we will rush your order to the front of the que. 👍🏼
Can you help us spread the word? Please tag your favorite pregnant lady or share this post!
Excellent demonstration! As the hot Texas summer comes on, breastfeed frequently to keep your baby hydrated. No need to add bottles of water for baby-just mom!
Heatwave! This is why you don't need to give your breastfed baby extra water (or tea?!) -- trust them! They know what they are doing! Here, you'll see how their feeds and your milk adjusts to what they need, as they need it.
(Edit: You can offer water when you begin to offer solids -- I neglected to mention that!)

🤗I am so grateful for the amazing help I had during labor and delivery by my Doula, Bliss Herron of Mother Bliss Doula Services
She was incredibly instrumental in helping me labor at home before we headed to the hospital to labor unmedicated for 12 hours. From sumo lunges and massages to a rice-filled sock that she threw in the microwave, Bliss helped me work through my contractions and advocated for my birth preferences when questions and deviations from my plan came up.
She stayed at the hospital after Augustine was born and, most importantly, is helping us postpartum. I cannot recommend her enough! Never felt more empowered as a woman.

My Friday started with the birth of a sweet surprise baby girl born exactly 3 years and 4 minutes after her big sister...and on her due date!!! How about you?
This was shared in a birth workers page...🤣
So, I’m an RN... and I just spent 90 minutes providing counter pressure and massage to my patient who doesn’t want an epidural and she’s 8 cm. Doulas do not make enough money. Pay them all the money.
Happy Valentine’s everyone!
There’s a new birth center in the metroplex. It’s beautiful. I can’t wait to attend a birth there!
WE OPEN IN ONE WEEK!!! We will celebrate the countdown by giving a mini-reveal of our favorite parts of the building. Be sure to join us at our Grand Opening 2.23.19! Mamas can schedule tours beginning now! Link in bio.
7. Our deck space is our favorite part of what makes this building a unique birth center. It separates the birth rooms from the rest of the building, providing added layers of privacy. The first time we toured this building, we instantly fell in love with this space, knowing there was so much potential. Our prenatal yoga instructor, Jaquatta Klein, confirmed last night that it is big enough for her prenatal yoga class, on days when there are no births! The finishing details... the fence you see at the end of the deck will be stained to match the birth room doors to complete that warm, safe feeling. #birtharlington #dfwbirthcenter #dfwbirth #comingsoon #thefinalcountdown @ Birth and Wellness Center of Arlington

This is the sweetest photo of two big sisters patiently waiting for their baby brother to be born. They weren’t banished from the room but they chose to sit quietly here and wait to greet him as soon as he arrived. Home birth at it’s finest.

Let your village care for you just like you care for your baby. Let them feed you, hold you, rock you, let you sleep. If you don’t have a village, let me help.

Doula DFW - Britany Bleistein
There is something your provider hasn't told you about that can improve the outcome of your birth. Do you know what it is?
This is why Postpartum Doulas are so important.
After my boys were born, there were appointments.
To check their latch.
To check their weight.
To check their hearing.
To check the colour of their skin for signs of jaundice.
There were appointments.
There were regular pokes and prods.
Their well-being was front and centre.
I'd say, when it comes to our health-care system, they were well taken care of.
Then there was me.
A first-time mom without a clue.
Engorged, bleeding, and stitched up.
Sent home with some painkillers and stool softeners.
Thrown into motherhood with the expectation my instincts would kick in.
That I would know how to handle colic and late night feedings.
That breastfeeding would come as nature intended.
That my husband would sense my spiral into depression.
That I would know how to live in my new and very foreign body.
That this stomach wouldn't make me feel hideous.
And my mind wouldn't make me feel less than they deserved.
No one poked me.
No one prodded.
No one checked my stitches, my healing, or my sanity until eight weeks postpartum.
And even then, it was a pat on the back and I was sent on my way.
Our world forgets about mothers.
We slip through the cracks.
We become background noise.
And in that, we learn our role... our place in our family unit... to always come last.
Folks, we can't put mothers last.
Our babies need us.
To be healthy.
To know that we are worthy.
To know that Motherhood, while natural, can sometimes feel like the least natural role in our life.
And that deserves attention.
Mothers deserve attention.
We need our world to fuss over us the way they fuss over ten fresh fingers and ten fresh toes.
We need to be seen.
We need to be heard.
We need someone to not only ask if we're okay but to check time and time again, just to be sure.
We're not just a uterus.
We're not just a lifeline to a new and precious soul.
And we need someone to make sure we're ok, too.

My journey as a doula actually began with the births of my own children, which include an emergency c-section, a repeat c-section, a unmedicated hospital birth and six home births. Those experiences gave me a deep belief in the strength of women and birth. I would be happy to come along side you and help you navigate pregnancy, labor, birth and your postpartum.
