Held in November at Sprocket Paducah, The West Kentucky Innovation Challenge Pitch Event was a testament to months of effort by an incredible group of entrepreneurs across the region. Bringing together 35 participants from over 7 counties to develop and edit their business ideas, 9 applied to pitch, 5 were selected to compete, and 3 winners were crowned in the pitch competition that showcased creativity, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit! 👏
-First Place: Maurice Cooper of Doggy Eats, a sustainably sourced bison dog food and treat company launching a subscription model. After his win, Maurice shared, “I feel amazing, and I’m so glad I got this opportunity. Thank you to everyone at Sprocket.” When asked about the future, he added, “Keep growing Doggy Eats and keep fueling this fire!” 🐶
-Second Place: Lakyn Tankersley of Plot Twist Book & Bar, a community-focused bookstore and bar with plans to open in Summer 2024. 📚 🍸
