We're celebrating family-owned success during National Dairy Month! 🐮

Greg and Joy started Goode's Riverside Creamery to create agricultural opportunities for the next generation: their three daughters, Emily, Leann, and Breanna. What started as J-G Springs Dairy, known for producing high-caliber cattle and exhibiting across the country, has transformed into a care facility for 55 cows to produce high-quality milk. Opened in 2025, the creamery began as a retail space offering hand-dipped ice cream, sandwiches, and its dairy products. They even ship to over 30 locations across Kentucky. 📦

As World Trade Month comes to a close, we want to reflect on the success exporting has created for Kentuckians. 🤝📦

"Exporting is proven to be one of the best ways to grow businesses because international markets represent over eight billion potential buyers. KY Innovation is honored to help Kentucky exporters reach those consumers and advance global sales of their highly sought-after products and services. World Trade Month recognizes the importance of the hard work shown by these Kentucky companies. For that, we couldn’t be prouder!”- Mary NeCamp, Senior Project Manager, KY Innovation

"As Kentucky continues to break records for exports, it is a great time to recognize the importance of international trade to businesses of all sizes. Breaking into new markets is perhaps the most powerful way for small companies to grow revenue. We are proud to continue supporting these businesses by providing the SBA's State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) funds, as well as partnering on the Kentucky Export Initiative. We look forward to helping even more Kentuckians build their dream businesses and expand them through trade across the globe."- David Brock, Executive Director, Office of Entrepreneurship & Innovation

We’re grateful to SMPS Kentucky for inviting SPEDA President & CEO Chris Girdler to participate in this week’s Economic Development Panel in Frankfort alongside leaders from across Kentucky and the region.

The conversation focused on the future of economic development — including workforce growth, infrastructure and funding strategies, public-private partnerships, and the evolving role of the architecture/engineering and construction industry in helping communities and businesses move projects forward.

Events like this create valuable opportunities to share ideas, discuss challenges, and strengthen the relationships that continue driving progress in the Commonwealth. We appreciate the thoughtful discussion and collaboration from everyone involved.
