🐷🕸️ A beloved story meets Kentucky's Ag Education Week! 🌾📚

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture has developed a school-wide Charlotte’s Web Book Study that takes students beyond the pages of the story and into the world of livestock shows and Kentucky agriculture.

Students will explore Wilbur’s experience at the county fair and make connections to what happens at real livestock shows today. The study includes hands-on learning activities and a featured video with insight from KDA’s Shows and Fairs Division and a Kentucky youth livestock exhibitor.

These lessons let students step into the show ring and experience for themselves how livestock owners care for, exhibit, and grow through showing animals--and it's not all buttermilk baths!

🎭🎨🐷 BRINGING CHARLOTTE’S WEB TO LIFE THROUGH THE ARTS! 🕸️📚

Through this collaboration, the Kentucky Department of Education partnered with Lexington Children’s Theatre to create three grade-level arts lessons connected to Charlotte’s Web.

Students will have opportunities to explore the story through theater, music, 2-D art, and more, providing creative ways to connect literature and agriculture with the arts.

These lessons are designed to complement KDA’s school-wide Charlotte’s Web Book Study, which explores Wilbur’s experience at the county fair and connects the story to real-world Kentucky livestock shows and agriculture.

📚🎨🐷 One story. Multiple disciplines. Endless opportunities for learning!

Educators can find the Charlotte’s Web resources in the All In For Ag Education Week School Handbook:

🕸️🐷 SOMETHING IS SPINNING AROUND THE FAIRGROUNDS… 🕷🕸️

We’ve been weaving together something special for Fall All In For Ag Education Week—and if you’re an educator, you’re going to want to keep your eyes on this one. 👀

It’s got a little fair magic, a little farm fun, and a whole lot of opportunities for students to see agriculture from a brand-new perspective. 🏆🐖

Think of it like a spider’s web—one simple strand connecting to another until something much bigger takes shape.

📚 One strand leads to literacy.
🎨 Another leads to creativity.
🐷 Another leads to agriculture.
🎭 And you never know where the next strand might lead…

We’re not ready to reveal all the details just yet. 🤫

But we can tell you this:
Something wonderful is being woven for Kentucky classrooms. 🕸️✨ And we're revealing it strand-by-strand today.
