Frederick's schools struggle with neutrality. Find out what we mean here:

Frederick County voters: meet Geoff Seidel, a registered nurse, educator, and longtime leader with 47 years of experience in nursing, cancer research, teaching, and community service.

He emphasizes safer schools, stronger academics, fiscal responsibility, and real accountability - bringing decades of hands‑on leadership and a student‑first mindset to the challenges facing FCPS.

Geoff’s focus is simple: put students first, support teachers, restore order in classrooms, and ensure families feel heard.

He highlights priorities such as academic performance, fiscal responsibility, parental communication, school choice options, and strong support for educators — bringing both classroom experience and public‑service leadership to our schools.

Tyler’s focus centers on transparency, academic improvement, and ensuring families have a meaningful voice in their children’s education.

"America is in a decade-long education depression. Barely a third of students are proficient in reading or math across most grades in recent testing, achievement gaps are widening fast, and too many college freshmen are arriving on campus unable to read a full book or do middle-school-level math. Chronic absenteeism has surged after the pandemic; students are disengaged. Educators are burning out, and teachers are increasingly hard to recruit and retain. Costs are rising. Trust in public schools is at a record low, and families with the means to leave increasingly do, leaving districts with half-empty buildings." Read it all here:

School choice is non-partisan. We encourage our to get to know this Democratic group that supports school choice. They started in 2007, when political parties actually worked together on school reform. We need to get back to that. https://dfer.org/about/
