Ursus Outreach Program

The program was started because students at Riverbend High School wanted to provide an introduction to Latin for elementary students in order to make Latin as interactive as possible. Sometimes you only learn what is required for the class, but this program was set up to enrich students' learning beyond the classroom. Through the years we have invited experts, college professors, and even professi

onal legionnaires from DC to come teach lessons about their specialties as well as traditional Roman games, pottery, etc. We focus on the culture, history, and mythology to hopefully inspire dedication in the next generations of Latin students. ALL things for the program: volunteer forms, participant forms, money, and t-shirt sizes (yes, there will be t-shirts!), are due NO LATER than Tuesday, April 30th.
