Today my fellow Commissioners and I, along with local officials and tourism partners welcomed the 2023 fall tourism season during a press conference at the Count Basie Center for the Arts.

At the press conference, we discussed how the summer season went this year. Summer in Monmouth County is one of the busiest times of year and this is a testament to the hard work done by our municipalities, tourism partners, chambers of commerce and our businesses. Despite the rainy weather at the beginning of the summer, the beach revenue numbers we have received so far show some positive results.

We also welcomed the fall season and highlighted the many things to do here during this beautiful season. The fall is one of the best times of year to visit Monmouth County. From our Grown in Monmouth farms hosting activities to enjoying our beautiful park system, there is always something to do.

You can find our Tourism calendar at MonmouthCountyTourism.com which always has the latest and greatest events happening around the County. Be sure to follow Monmouth County Tourism on social media for more updates and upcoming events!

Yesterday at our Commissioner meeting, we were honored to present a proclamation commemorating Ukraine's Independence Day. As Monmouth County Commissioners, we recognize the tremendous significance of this day for the Ukrainian community both here and abroad.

On August 24th, 1991, Ukraine achieved independence from the Soviet Union, marking a historic milestone in the Ukrainian people's journey towards freedom, democracy, and self-determination. Ukraine's Independence Day marks a profound moment in history when the Ukrainian people united to reclaim independence.

In Monmouth County, we're privileged to have a vibrant Ukrainian American community that has contributed immensely to our cultural fabric and community. The values of hard work, unity, and a deep love for heritage are evident in the Ukrainian Americans who call this county home.

As Commissioners, we stand in solidarity with our Ukrainian American residents, acknowledging the challenges their ancestors have overcome and the achievements they continue to make.
