📢 Adams- Friendship Tractor Safety Program!

The laws:

The Wisconsin Youth Tractor & Machinery Safety Certification Program is designed to meet requirements established by the US Department of Labor, pertaining to special provisions made for the employment of youth ages 14-15 on farms not operated by their parents. In addition, Wisconsin Act 455 provides specific provisions for tractor operation by 12-13 year olds.

To certify (like a driver’s license):

Wisconsin Youth Tractor & Machinery Safety Certificate of Training they must:

attend 24 hours of instructional training;

pass a written exam with a score of 70% or greater; and

pass a driving exam, which demonstrates competent tractor driving ability in a course with a trailed implement.

The plan for Adams-Friendship:

We will again run a tractor safety program for 12-15 year olds at the end of July.

We will add a driving class for inexperienced drivers (starting at age 11) so they will be able to pass the safety program later.

The program class will be sponsored by the Adams-Friendship Area School District’s Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resource Program.

More information can be found in the applications below. The class will be open to a limited number of students. Students may apply for the class by filling out the attached applications.

🎉 STATE TRACK & FIELD SUCCESS! 🏅

What an incredible weekend at the WIAA State Track & Field Meet at UW-La Crosse! A massive congratulations to our phenomenal seniors, Jaylee Sunday and Molly Johnson, for wrapping up their high school careers on the biggest stage in the state. 💚⚡️

These two brought their absolute best to the track and field, cementing their legacy:

👩‍🦽 Jaylee Sunday — Wheelchair Shot Put

For the 4th consecutive year, Jaylee qualified for the State Meet! She capped off an amazing four-year run with a powerful throw of 7 feet 8.5 inches, securing an incredible 9th place finish in the state!

🏃‍♀️ Molly Johnson — Division 2 Sprints

Also making her 4th straight appearance at UW-La Crosse, Molly took on the fastest sprinters in Division 2 and absolutely flew down the track:

400m Dash: Ran a blistering, NEW SCHOOL RECORD time of 56.87 seconds to take 4th place on the podium! 📜🔥

200m Dash: Finished 10th place in the state with a fantastic time of 25.67 seconds!

We are so incredibly proud of the dedication, hard work, and history these two outstanding athletes have made over the last four years. Thank you for representing our school with such grit and grace. Once a Green Devil, always a Green Devil!

As our school prepares for an exciting new chapter next year, we took a moment today to honor the memories we've created together.

With our seventh and eighth grade students moving to the high school next year, this marks the final year that our building will be together as a full middle school staff. To commemorate this special milestone, the staff presented Principal Chris Robinson and Assistant Principal Tammie Alekna with a photo of the school, beautifully matted and signed by every staff member.

Thank you, Mr. Robinson and Mrs. Alekna, for your leadership, dedication, and commitment to our students and staff through the years. While change is on the horizon, the relationships, traditions, and memories we've built together will always be a part of our school's story. ❤️🏫

Every year at AFMS, our teachers wave goodbye to the school buses for the final time as the school year comes to an end. 🚌

This year's send-off was a little more emotional, as our 7th and 8th grade students will be moving on to the high school next fall. While we're excited for their next chapter, we'll certainly miss seeing them at AFMS.

We are so proud of all they've accomplished and wish them the very best as they continue their journey! 💚

Last week, our WEB Leaders and 5th-grade students enjoyed an exciting Field Day filled with fun, laughter, teamwork, and special guests!

One of the highlights of the day was a visit from Jeremy Kruk, Commissioner of Pop Darts and a National Referee. Mr. Kruk spent time with students teaching them how to play Pop Darts and helping make the day even more memorable.

A big thank you to Mr. Kruk for sharing his time and expertise with our students. It was a fantastic day full of smiles, new experiences, and lasting memories! 👏

The ultimate return on investment from our school district is our graduates’ future success. The three newest inductees into the Adams-Friendship Area Education Foundation, Inc. Academic Hall of Fame are inspiring, humbling examples of the benefits of an A-F education, made possible through our community's financial support.

🎓 Rushell Moyer - Class of 1984
🎓 Jodie Woodruff - Class of 1983
🎓 Patricia Kierstyn - Class of 1959

These distinguished alumni were honored at the 11th Academic Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, organized by the Foundation and the A-F Alumni Association and held at the A-F VFW. Alumni fondly remembered A-F teachers and experiences that helped shape their future selves. Jodie Woodruff recalled:
✨Mrs. Morgan’s “Good, Better, Best”
✨Mr. Waterman’s approach to public speaking
✨Miss Webster’s (Machan) journaling practice
✨Mr. Manning’s emphasis on current events and discussion
✨Mr. Craig’s typing classes
✨Mr. Pufall’s music instruction
✨A pivotal moment when Mr. B. (Beversdorf) asked her a difficult but honest question that set her on a path that ultimately changed her life.

What these alumni did after their AFHS graduation is truly impressive. They:

Conducted missions to Panama and Germany during Desert Storm as part of a 12-year military career starting as a Combat Medical Specialist.

Helped disengaged students launch an all-natural soda company with $10,000 in funding, which secured 48 accounts in six months including Whole Foods.
Became the youngest-ever Scripps League newspaper Circulation Director.

Spearheaded funds of $1.4 million to build the nation’s first free-standing entrepreneurship center for a public high school.

Worked for more than two decades in a group home supporting adults with autism.

Earned the Henry Ford Innovator of the Year Award, the Rockefeller National Innovation Award for Social Emotional Learning, The Global Entrepreneurship Educator Award and the National Life Changer Award.

Oversaw the Adams County Historical Society’s acquisition of the Gunning-Purves building and transformation into the Heritage Center and its placement on state and National Register of Historic Places.

Hosted foreign exchange students from countries including Moldova, Afghanistan, Italy, Spain, East Germany and Malaysia.
Co-led an educational consulting company designing STEM-based project-based-learning camps in Shanghai, China and surrounding cities, writing immersive curricula, training, and coordinating American teachers abroad.

Founded and managed a drapery design service.

Taught more than 10,000 students driver’s education.

Helped lead the Adams County Historical Society’s transfer of the Niebull School building from the county fairgrounds to the McGowan site, a venue for historical programs attended by A-F students.
Donated countless hours volunteering for myriad causes locally and around the globe

Congratulations to these alumni — and to all AFASD employees who help our students learn, grow and prepare for life after graduation!

The AFMS and AFHS Bands recently held their annual "ExtravaBANDza" concert, bringing our school community together for an evening of outstanding music and generosity.

Following the concert, students and families hosted a bake sale to support two band families who are currently navigating serious medical challenges. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the bake sale raised nearly $800, which was split evenly between both families.

We are grateful to everyone who donated, purchased treats, and helped make this fundraiser a success. Your kindness and support demonstrate the true spirit of our band program and community as we "band" together to help one another during difficult times.

Thank you for making a difference! ❤️🎶

Yesterday AFE said goodbye not only to the 2025–2026 school year, but also to four incredible educators as they begin their well-earned retirements. 🎉

Mrs. Osborn, Mrs. Frieders, Mrs. Keller, and Mrs. Hover have over 140 years of combined educational experience. Their leadership and dedication to the students, family, and our district will always be remembered.

Please join us in thanking these amazing educators for their years of service and wishing them all the best in this exciting new chapter.

Once a Green Devil, always a Green Devil. 💚
