Due to tomorrow’s forecast of threatening thunderstorms and heavy rain, Cherokee County Veteran Affairs has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Memorial Day Ceremony scheduled at Veterans Appreciation Park.

While we are disappointed we cannot gather in person, the safety of our veterans, families, guests, and community must come first.

Memorial Day remains a sacred time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. We encourage everyone to take a moment tomorrow to reflect on their sacrifice and the freedoms they helped preserve.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our veterans and their families. 🇺🇸
