🔥 Structure fires with roof involvement demand fully staffed crews to perform fire attack, ventilation, and search operations simultaneously. When apparatus are understaffed or removed from service due to cross-staffing, firefighter safety, operational effectiveness, and coverage for surrounding communities are directly impacted.
🔥 The Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters remain committed to ending cross-staffing, achieving four-person staffing on all fire apparatus, and delivering safe, reliable, nationally compliant fire protection for every community.
📊 These challenges are clearly documented in the department’s Standards of Coverage and NFPA recommendations. Our members will always answer the call — but they deserve the staffing and resources necessary to do the job safely, and residents deserve dependable protection when emergencies occur.
