Good mernin and happy Saturday you precious little chicken nuggets 🐔💤
Waves of shower and thunderstorm activity, hit or miss, will continue to move through the region from southwest to northeast as the center of low pressure slowly moves onshore over northern California.
The strongest storms will bring lightning, gusty winds, heavy downpours, and some small hail. Especially this afternoon.
Highs today will max out in the mid 60s on the valley floors, near 50 in the mountains.
We cool it down a bit Sunday, upper 50s to near 60 on the valley floors, cold 40s in the mountains. Monday trends cooler, mid 50s on the valley floors, 30s and 40s in the mountains.
Then we slowly moderate Tuesday and Wednesday, back into the upper 50s and low 60s.
Our next storm system and its associated cold front roll through sometime late Wednesday, dropping highs back near 50 on the valley floors. We may actually struggle to get out of the 40s on Thursday, with cold 30s in the mountains.
By next Friday, we rebound into the mid to upper 50s as that system finally lifts north and east.
Back to later this weekend.......
Snow levels drop to around 4,000 feet by Sunday morning, so I can’t rule out a rain/snow mix, or some wet snurfall in places like Burns and Baker City. Idaho’s mountains, including Long Valley, will also see that potential.
Down in the Treasure and Magic Valleys, it should stay just warm enough for rain, even with a few embedded thunderstorms late Sunday morning into Sunday afternoon.
By Monday afternoon into Monday night, as the storm weakens and shifts southeast, any lingering showers will start to taper off.
We’ll talk more about that midweek cold front in future updates, showers may linger into Thursday, and you already know the drama’s in the details.
Be patient, keep checking in with me on the book of faces, and I’ll keep you updated like always so there are no surprises 👊
