“Teresa MacFarlane has been a part of our family for about ten years now. Anything she goes to do, she dives in whole heartedly and gives her all. She doesn’t just do it for her personal gain, but for the benefit of everyone involved. She is truly genuine and these days, that is a rarity.
Teresa is always going over and beyond what’s required of her because of her selfless heart, regardless of what it may entail. She sticks up for thise without a voice and looks out for the best interest of everyone around her. She is a true asset to anyone who knows her. Gaston County School Board would greatly benefit from having her on board!” ...says Alex Manley and Brittany Hambrick Manley.
“I have known Teresa for many years now. She is the type of person that once she gets involved in something, whether it is a friendship, helping someone in trouble/in need/or just being there when a friend is needed, supporting a cause, etc., she is 110% committed and goes above and beyond. She is a person you can always rely on, no matter what. Teresa is always putting others first, and truly cares about people. She is able to see the whole picture not just one side. I believe that she would be an amazing asset to the Gaston County School Board.”...said Kristy Gilman

Hi my name is Nancy Weidenhamer. I have known Teresa MacFarlane since 1996 when my daughter Katelyn and her daughter Katie were in the same first grade class at Cherryville Elementary school. Katelyn and Katie were best friends and consequently Teresa and I became friends. Over the last 24 years we have remained friends. In 2003 when my youngest daughter Lauren was in 1st grade and struggling academicly I recognized something was wrong and she needed help. I called Teresa and she gave a name of a psychologist in Gastonia to take Lauren to athe name of the excetional children director for Gaston county schools. I followed Teresa advice and Lauren was diagnosed with ADHD. Teresa help him navigate through getting her the help she needed. I had no idea what a 504 plan or an IEP were. I had to push the teacher and school to do right by Lauren and Teresa guided me through it every step of the way. She called to check on Lauren and made sure I was ok too. Lauren begin to improve and excel academicly. Through out her years in school their were issues and each time I needed help Teresa answered her phone. Lauren graduated in 2016 and is now doing well. You may say she helped because we are friends and our daughters were friends, which is true however there are multiple people Teresa has helped over the years she has been a parent advocate, that she didn't know prior. Teresa Mac Farlane will be an outstanding school board member because she genuinely cares about every single child in Gaston county. She has my vote.
“I’m voting for Teresa because I know she has the kid’s best interest at heart. She always tries to do her very best and everything she does, she goes ‘all out’. She’s a good person and I trust her.” says Donna Hoffman.
“She would be wonderful, wonderful on the school board, because she knows children, and she knows parents, and she knows the educators. She knows what the teachers need, and what the student needs and what the parent needs. She knows how to communicate between the three of them. So, I am telling you....she would be wonderful on the Gaston County School Board.” says Lisa Johnson.
“She understands the school system and how it works. She knows the small details. She knows the things that a lot of people don’t know, that are there that can help people, and she is keen to do that.” says Jeff Pasour. Christine Bates Pasour
