I want to thank everyone who voted for me, supported me, shared a post, put out a sign, or simply took the time to talk with me during this campaign. I’m incredibly grateful for the encouragement and trust so many of you showed.
As the race moves to a runoff, voters are left with two choices that many people have strong opinions about. I’ll just say this — character, honesty, and accountability should always matter in leadership.
Truthfully, we’re left with a very difficult decision here. To be completely honest, I don’t really want either of these candidates in this position — that’s exactly why I ran in the first place. I stepped up because I believed I could do the job the right way for the county and for the people who live here.
There was never any personal gain in it for me. In fact, taking this role likely would have taken time away from something I hold very dear — my company. But I was willing to make that sacrifice because I care about our county and the people in it.That said, here we are. I won’t pretend this is an easy choice, because it’s not. If I’m being honest, I don’t even want to vote again because I don’t like having to choose between the two. But we do have to make a choice, and because of that, if I absolutely had to pick one of the two, I would choose Scott. And to be clear — it’s not because this is the outcome I wanted. It’s simply because at this point, we have to choose.
Thank you again to everyone who stood with me during this journey. I’m grateful for each and every one of you, and I appreciate the opportunity to have met so many great people across this precinct. I plan to see you in 4 years!
