✨Exciting News: The Geneva Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome their new Chair of the Board, Michael Olesen. Micheal started on the board in 2011. Michael, a Geneva lifer, is the owner of Stockholm's Restaurant & Brewery and Geneva Investment Group.

Early on, Bill & Jane Briner, owners of the Persimmon Tree, peaked Michael’s desire to become a business owner. While at the University of Illinois, the realization of self-employment grew. Upon graduation, he sought employment from independent business owners where he could learn additional skills that would benefit him as an entrepreneur, and in 1991 he opened his own business.

Living in the downtown historic district and having worked for downtown businesses since he was 15, Michael’s pride in our community is very strong. He is an active member of the Chamber, was on the board of Geneva Community Chest for 15 years, and is involved in multiple programs and local charities. He wants to continue to see Geneva prosper; continuing to draw upon the best of our past while looking for new ideas in pursuit of our town’s future.

“Michael has been a contributing and positive board member for over 10 years. The chamber looks forward to his leadership, creativity, and new ideas to lead us into our next chapter,” Paula Schmidt, President Geneva Chamber of Commerce.

And what is his favorite thing about Geneva? In his own words, “It is Home”. Michael’s passion for all things Geneva is a perfect fit for our new Chair of the Board.
