Rock Pond Association

Rock Pond Association Rock Pond Association (RPA) is a community association to promote the protection and enhancement of the beloved Rock Pond in Georgetown, MA.

Rock Pond Association (RPA) is a non-profit organization comprised of concerned neighbors of Georgetown’s beloved Rock Pond who do not want to see the “great” pond deteriorate due to a recent infestation of Eurasian Milfoil. Both people and creatures have enjoyed the pond for years. Besides the draw of fishing, swimming, tubing, ice fishing and boating, many birds, turtles, beavers, fish and other

wildlife call the Pond home. RPA is determined to do whatever we can to help ensure the conservation of Rock Pond for many future generations. The immediate focus of RPA, formed in October 2015, is the control and treatment of the aggressively invasive plant, Eurasian Milfoil, from Rock Pond. Milfoil is an aggressively invasive plant in ponds and lakes which can ultimately destroy the wildlife and usability of the pond. Although we are very new and are learning about the challenges Milfoil presents, we know that we have a lot of work ahead of us and that it’s going to be very costly, which is why we need your help! Through your generous donations, we can start treatments to save our pond for future public enjoyment and wildlife for years to come. We need to start treatment in the Spring of 2016, so time is of the essence. This is a public effort and your help is needed and greatly appreciated. Please share with family, friends and neighbors so we can tackle this issue with force. May we look forward to many seasons of enjoyment and a healthy pond ahead.
