It is always great to have a Village board meeting.

See the below for what I shared this evening during my President's Report.

President’s Report – August 17, 2026

Good evening, everyone!

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.

Summer is winding down and school will be starting soon. In fact, Germantown has their first football game of the season this coming Friday at Datka Stadium.

Where has the summer gone?

As one season comes to a close, it nice to know that ‘Orange Barrel’ season continues within our community.

In the News You Can Use section of this report, work on the DOT roundabout at 145 and Division continues, as does the work on the former Flower Source property where all they have to do is final grading of the backfill that was brought in.

Phase 1 of the Division Road reconstruction project started as did the Esquire Estates subdivision reconstruction project.

And finally, the Heritage Hills subdivision project is rapidly moving forward.

The Neighbors Against Crime or NAC Night Out that was held at Firemen’s Park on Tuesday, August 4th., was a tremendous success.

It was great seeing all of the families and kiddos and others in attendance.

This past week on August 10, we had a Plan Commission meeting where among other things we got an update on the many residential developments that have been approved to move forward in our community.

On August 13, the Village Center District Community Open House was held at the library.

The Open House, which is another step in the process, was widely attended and gathered additional input on the path forward for the seven properties located with the Village Center District.

And speaking of Open Houses, join us at the Germantown Library on August 25th, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm for a community visioning Open House and help shape the future of the Holy Hill Gateway District.

Drop in anytime to learn about the planning process, share your ideas, and discuss opportunities for the district's future. Your feedback will help guide the Master Plan for this important area of Germantown!

As way of background, the Holy Hill Gateway District is a large area of land along the Interstate 41 and Holy Hill Road corridor that Germantown's 2050 Comprehensive Plan envisions as a future employment and commercial hub with light industrial, warehouse, office, hospitality, and mixed-use development.

This process is part of our continued effort to improve communication, transparency, and community involvement throughout the Village.

And we encourage all residents to explore the project website that is on our germantownwi.gov website.
Moving on to this evening’s Village board meeting. Our agenda includes many items.

We will have a presentation on our Annual Comprehensive Financial Report & Audit Results by Baker Tilly our Auditors.

Our Director, Public Works, will provide an update on the April storm event that was presented at the Public Works & Highway Committee meeting where subject matter experts MMSD and Washington County spoke.

And finally, the conversation continues on the Washington County countywide EMS system.

Again, lots going on.

I’m looking forward to this evening as we all work together to make Germantown a better place to live, work and play.

Thank you.

Old Flower Source Site Update

The site is looking great with only grading of fill to do.

Improving the ‘now Village owned’ site is one step in our Village Center Engagement to identifying a path forward.

Let me know your thoughts.
