Thank you New River Humane Society leader Aleah Denny for your support. Beach. Aleah's statement: The current county commissioners Allison Taylor, John Brenemen and Tom Louisos are the reason the New River Humane Society will no longer receive county funding and run the county shelter in Beckwith. They have also made multiple other decisions that will negatively impact the county. Let’s vote them out one by one! Beach Vickers is for the hard working people in the county. Please vote for Beach Vickers for County Commission! 💜🐾
This is Beach sending you my background and focuses.
BACKGROUND: Top of my class at Montgomery High. Dean’s List grad of Washington and Lee U. After college, chosen by our country to help represent the American people’s giving attitude as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Afghanistan and South Korea. Back home in WV, public serving jobs as Montgomery Herald reporter; school-business partnership director, Charleston Regional Chamber of Commerce; and nature conservation education manager, Morris Creek Watershed. A professional actor in L.A. awhile, while also a proud union member in an accounting position for NBCUniversal. Now I live again in the old family homeplace in Montgomery and am a community event organizer and grant writer on the team at Smithers City Hall.
None of this makes me better or smarter than anybody. But if you can see how my education, public service, and a broad range of international experiences can be brought to bear on serving our beautiful Fayette County as commissioner, kindly consider voting for me.
FOCUS: education, fire, law enforcement, and EMT support, addiction programs, animals (what the HECK is up with the commission’s attitude against the animal shelter?), using local arts, crafts, and historic preservation to help DRIVE economic revitalization, and commission lack of transparency and accountability too complex to detail here. The county is FLUSH with money, but where is it and where is it going? I hope you agree as one Democrat with two other Republicans, I will be easy to outvote (although I hope we can find lots of agreements, too), but the commission needs someone ready and willing to respectfully QUESTION them about issues and decisions with which all of us might not agree. Those disagreements are not always being aired nowadays.
Thanks for your attention to my race for commissioner. Please vote Tues., Nov. 8!
