SAFTEY TIPS FOR July 4th
🔥 Before You Light Fireworks
1. Choose a Safe Location
• Use fireworks on a flat, non-flammable surface (asphalt, concrete, dirt).
• Stay away from dry grass, trees, homes, and other structures.
3. Prepare Safety Tools
• Keep a bucket of water, hose, and fire extinguisher nearby.
• Have a metal container to dispose of used fireworks safely.
• Wear eye protection and keep pets and kids at a safe distance.
🎇 While Lighting Fireworks
1. Never Light Near Flammable Materials
• Keep all fireworks and ignition sources far from dry vegetation or fuels (e.g. gas, propane).
2. Light One at a Time
• Move back quickly after lighting, and never lean over fireworks.
3. Keep Water Close
• If a firework doesn’t go off, don’t relight it douse it with water and discard it safely.
4. Fire Extinguisher
• 🔥 Instant Response: It allows you to quickly put out small fires before they spread.
• 🌾 Especially crucial around dry grass or trees, which can ignite easily from sparks or embers.

Remember the PASS technique:
• P – Pull the pin
• A – Aim low at the base of the fire
• S – Squeeze the handle
• S – Sweep from side to side
Bonus Safety Tip:
If a firework causes a grass or brush fire, and the extinguisher isn’t enough, call 911 immediately. Don’t try to fight a growing fire alone.

1. Soak Used Fireworks
• Place all spent fireworks in a bucket of water for several hours before trashing them.
2. Inspect the Area
• Do a walk-through with a flashlight to check for embers or smoldering debris.
3. Dispose Responsibly
• Once soaked, wrap fireworks in plastic bags before placing in a metal trash can away from buildings.
