Only TWO MORE WEEKS until registration opens for the Mystery Quilt Challenge!!
WHAT IS THE MYSTERY QUILT CHALLENGE?
The 2017 Project Linus Mystery Quilt Challenge is an eight week mystery quilt reveal. This year’s quilt is called “Exploring the World with Ethan.” By opening each weekly “mystery clue,” quilters of various levels of expertise will be given detailed instructions, many accompanied by instructional videos, as they complete a child-sized quilt.
Each weekly clue will include:
Detailed instructions on how to create the block(s) and how many of each block you will need for your quilt.
An explanation of the significance of each block as the theme comes together in the quilt’s “Final Reveal.”
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?
Registration opens at 12:01a CT on Monday, August 21, 2017. A link to sign up will be displayed on www.projeclinus.org
The first clue will be revealed at 7:00a CT on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Each succeeding Saturday at 7:00a CT new clues will be revealed until the “Big Reveal” on Saturday, November 4, 2017. If you register any time after September 16, 2017 you will still be able to access the previous week’s clues and videos.
Cost of participating in the Challenge is a $15.00 tax-deductible donation to Project Linus. If you would like to specify your local Project Linus chapter (Chester and Delaware County, PA) as the recipient of your donation, please enter the complete chapter name when you register.
There will be a weekly “Clue” that will be activated each week on Saturday. Our Mystery Clues page is password protected and only those who have officially registered for the 2017 Mystery Quilt Challenge will be able to enter.

DO YOU KNOW about Amazon smile?
If you use Amazon you can sign in at www.amazonsmile.com and designate Project Linus as the charity of your choice and a portion of the money spent is designated to PL. Amazon smile is exactly the same as Amazon.com
Amazon Prime day starts at 9 pm tonight and goes all day tomorrow. If you are not familiar with amazon Prime day this is a day that they run really big sales for anyone who has signed up for Amazon Prime.
Throughout our Mystery Quilt Prep, Challenge and Contest, many of our Project Linus friends donate prizes to be given away to our Facebook Group Members. When we achieve a milestone (a certain number of group members, a certain number of registrations, a certain number of $$$ raised) I invite our FB group members to post a comment for a designated period of time. Then we have a random drawing for the prize! It's as simple as that!
Our first 2017 "Exploring the World with Ethan" drawing is coming up for our Facebook Group members VERY soon but we need 2000 group members first! (We have 1500 as of this moment) Please invite and encourage your friends to join our group!

Hello everyone. Hope you had a Happy Halloween.
As many of you know, I lost my husband two months ago. It was very suddenly and unexpected. I am just starting to get back on my Project Linus feet. I picked up some lovely blankets this morning from the talented ladies at St. John's United Church of Christ in Phoenixville. They will be included in a very big delivery I am preparing for The Arc of Chester County.
As we approach the holidays, I know you all like to get the blankets out of your houses and into mine. Because the holidays will be very difficult of me this year, I am going away to stay with friends and relatives from Thanksgiving through Christmas.
So PLEASE - drop off or send your blankets before Thanksgiving. or hold on to them until January.
Thank you,
Peggy
Hello Everyone - hope you are enjoying your summer. Looks like we will get a break from the heat over the next few days.
Summer is a slow time for deliveries. So, if you are making blankets, please hold on to them until after Labor Day.
I was at Goods the other day and they were having some good fabric sales. I also see that Joann's has a 25% off sale starting.
Regarding Fleece Blankets - PLEASE do not make double layer knotted fleece blankets. The hospitals no longer like them - they are too warm and the kids chew on the knots.
However, I have a great pattern for a no-sew, single layer fleece blankets that I can share with you and your group. Please contact me through email at [email protected] or call me at 610 942 3167.
Thank you for your continued support and interest.
Please do not drop off blankets at THE UPS STORE in Lionville between April 25th and May 20th, 2016. I will be unavaialble to pick them up during that time period. Thank you so very much

Made a huge delivery of Project Linus blankets to the wonderful people at The Arc of Chester County. Glad we are able to support the great work they do.
Are you local to Chester County and can you help this chapter?
Each blanket that I receive has to have a Project Linus label attached. There are certain times during the year when I have an overwhelming amount of blankets that need to be labeled. This is one of those times of year. If you would like to help, please be in contact with me here. Thanks!

Why we do what we do:
Good afternoon! I'm curious about how I can help. My son and daughter received blankets yesterday at Camp Corral and my son received one a couple years ago at the same camp and they absolutely treasure them. My husband is a wounded warrior hurt back in May 2002 and he is 100% permanent and totally disabled now so I am his full time care giver. He is still able to move around and remains as active as he can. I have three children that keep me busy but I want something I can do to give back. I am not great at sewing or knitting but I am a fast learner. I have made some no sew blankets. When you have time please get back to me with information and if I can help because I would love to give back.
Thank you,

The Blanket Circle at Maris Grove is a very dedicated and prolific group of Blanketeers for this Project Linus Chapter. Their good work was recently recognized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Congratulations and Thank You!
Blanket Circle Members Receive Certificates Of Appreciation

The Honorable Stephen Barrar, Pennsylvania State Representative resented Frankie Moses with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Citation. She was recognized as the founder of the Blanket Circle in September 2008 whose150 loyal Blanketeers are members of the Chester/Delaware County National Project Linus chapter. He praised the group for creating over 6000 blankets which have been donated to 35 organizations whose clients are special needs children.
Then, to everyone's delight and amazement, Mr. Barrar proceeded to give out 150 personalized Certificates of Achievement, in their impressive gold embossed folders, to each of the Blanket Circle members.
One of my very loyal Blanketeers, Barb Ryan, makes beautifully serged fleece blankets for the NICU at Paoli Hospital. Here she is giving them to her friend Ann who is a nurse in the NICU.

Hi Everyone,
I am SO EXCITED to announce that It's TIME!!!! Registration is now open for the Project Linus Build a Block - Build a Quilt Challenge Fundraiser!!! Note: Anyone can participate from beginners to advance quilters. This year's challenge is Lukey the Lucky Penguin created in memory of my little grandson Luke. The first clue will be revealed on Sunday, February 8th but participants need to be registered in order to participate.
This is the easiest fundraiser you'll ever do!!! All you need to do is share this information and be sure to tell everyone to write YOUR CHAPTER name on their registration form. That way you receive the entire $15 in your chapter account. The $15 is no more than the cost of any pattern and we hope to promote the craft of quilting by encouraging those who may never have made a quilt to "give it a try"! The instructions are VERY detailed for each "Clue" and the finished quilt is absolutely adorable. In addition there is a cute little story that evolves with each clue about Lukey.
Once the challenge is complete - it's not over! There's a contest!!! Participants can either enter the quilt they made or design their own quilt using the clues from the challenge for a chance at winning a $999 Janome 3160QDS sewing machine WITH automatic thread cutter!!! (Thanks to the generosity of Sue Fox at Times Square Sewing Complex in Jacksonville IL) Yes - you just push a button and it cuts your thread (plus lots of other great features)!!! Two additional prizes of 100 Fat Quarters of fabric or a Lukey the Penguin Party Basket will go to the 2nd and 3rd place winners.
