It was a cold February night in 2025, and telecommunicator Christina Aguayo was waiting for her shift replacement to show up when her dispatch phone rang. It was the last call of the shift for TC Aguayo, but it's one that she'll never forget.

The Lake Forest Police Department would like to wish Sergeant Brett Marquette a happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement!

After 25 years of service to the Lake Forest community, Sgt. Marquette is beginning a well-earned new chapter. He has exemplified professionalism, leadership, and true dedication to public service. His impact on our department will be felt for years to come; we are so grateful for all that he has contributed. Since joining LFPD in 2001, Brett has served as an Officer, Field Training Officer, Fi****ms Instructor, School Resource Officer, Citizens Police Academy Administrator and Patrol Sergeant. He was also responsible for the creation of our Police Honor Guard program.

Congratulations, Brett, and thank you for your service. We wish you all the best in retirement!

Congratulations!!

Our 2026 Youth Academy officially wrapped up on July 31, and what an incredible week it was! 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

These young men and women spent the week learning, laughing, asking great questions, getting hands-on with different aspects of law enforcement, and building memories along the way. From physical fitness and police demonstrations to learning about investigations, K-9s, the court system, and so much more, they truly made the most of every minute.

We are incredibly proud of this group and grateful they chose to spend part of their summer with us. It was a pleasure getting to know each of them and watching their confidence, curiosity, and teamwork grow throughout the week.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! 🎓👏 We hope you had as much fun as we did!
