Tonto National Monument FREE Admission Memorial Day

Government Offices & Libraries Closed Monday

The federal observance of Memorial Day means most government offices and libraries are closed Monday for the holiday - but one venue that is open, and with special fee-waive for FREE admission is Gila County's own Tonto National Monument. The ancient cliff dwelling with breathtaking views over Roosevelt Lake was recently named one of the top ten places in Arizona for a hike; visit for FREE on Memorial Day — the museum and visitor center are open 8 am-4 pm year-round, with the onset of summer heat the trail to the lower cliff dwelling closes at 12:00 noon.
